Job Purpose
The Supply Chain Management Operations Department is responsible for the oversight, standardization and technical leadership of the internal material handling operations at the Honda automobile powertrain and final assembly sites across North America. The Process Engineer position is responsible for engineering and executing the internal logistics flow of parts through a specific Honda plant to the production line. This position will be responsible for supporting the development and design of internal material delivery processes, working and communicating with stakeholders, and developing solutions through process analysis, time studies, work balancing, etc.
Key Accountabilities
Support development, documentation and implementation of processes utilizing engineering tools (Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST), AutoCAD, Visio, QMF, Excel, etc.) required to achieve project and business plan targets.
Areas of responsibility include manpower planning, process and vanning layout design, expectation sheet development and New Model packaging evaluations.
Identify and support implementation of process improvements in support of business plan objectives and general cost reduction.
Execute tasks as prescribed by and maintain Specified Action Plans (SAP). Create SAP's for projects with limited complexity (less than $100,000).
Maintain assigned process design through daily maintenance, process audits, and continuous improvement.
Ensure all process related documentation is completed in the standard format, stored in the proper location, and communicated to all of the appropriate parties.
Assist investigation of production related issues through situation analysis, using established problem-solving techniques and support the implementation of countermeasures.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications: Engineering related degree or other relevant work experience
Minimum Experience: 0-2 years of experience in engineering role

Actively participate in New Product Development (NPD) to optimize manufacturability, process flow, and productivity.
Review and approve Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to ensure changes are robust, practical, and production-ready.
Lead and support PPI teams by facilitating Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis sessions, and perform other duties as assigned to support the Marietta site's continuous improvement and operational goals.
How will you get here?
Education:
B.S. degree in a related engineering field required.
Preferred Experience:
Working knowledge of hard goods manufacturing processes, machinery, and automation, including sheet metal fabrication and welding practices.
Strong analytical skills to assess and improve procedures.
Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or PPI methodologies to manufacturing processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven ability to lead complex problem-solving using structured methods such as root cause analysis or DMAIC.
Strong communication, facilitation, and teamwork skills to collaborate and influence at all levels.
Ability to develop and deliver Lean/PPI training to build internal capability.
Skilled in interpersonal relations and project management with capacity to manage multiple priorities.
Able to resolve internal and external customer concerns through teamwork and collaboration.

Job Duties:
Students may be involved in one or many of the following:
Research the viability of a new program or initiative; compile and present statistics.
Clean up, edit and update a database.
Conduct a failure analysis and investigation.
Evaluate and improve efficiency, streamline programs, or cut costs.
Perform a study or survey; analyze and present results.
Compile employee manuals or develop process directions for tasks.
Conduct a cost benefit analysis to upgrade on a specific material/machine.
Design tooling or ground support equipment.
Work on a continuous improvement project resulting in a measurable improvement.
Carries out other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Completion of two years of education in engineering related curriculum
Project Management Experience with CAD and simulation software
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S Principles
Lean Green Belt Certification preferred
Project Experience in manufacturing setting preferred
The ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints.
The ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
The ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
The ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
