Job Description (Duties and Responsibilities) Analyze workflows, conduct time studies, and apply industrial engineering methodologies to improve throughput and reduce waste. Implement Lean and Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Design, troubleshoot, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment for stick electrode production. Develop and recommend equipment specifications, performance requirements, and cost analyses for new machinery and tooling. Provide direct technical support on the shop floor, including root cause analysis and corrective actions for process and equipment issues. Lead trials, pilot projects, and process validations to ensure successful implementation of improvements. Monitor and evaluate production parameters such as scrap rates, downtime, and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). Utilize statistical tools and process control methods to identify trends and implement corrective actions. Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and R&D teams to ensure alignment on safety, quality, and cost objectives. Author and maintain operational work instructions and process documentation. Assume additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's Strategy. Basic Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; Mechanical Engineering experience strongly preferred. Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in manufacturing or process engineering. Proven ability to apply practical process knowledge with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting, installations, and testing. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles. Proficiency in mechanical design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and understanding of automation/robotics integration. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data for process improvement. Willingness to work off-shifts periodically to support production trials.
