Application engineer, working in a pre-contract problem solving position. This is a customer-facing role that requires an outgoing personality, with the ability to work independently performing data analysis. Projects typically begin with an introduction to a customer's industrial facility, followed by an analysis of that customer's steam system/heat balance to recommend optimizations. This will include spreadsheet data analysis, graphing and calculations. Within the team environment, a solution will be offered to the customer that needs to be developed from a cost perspective, benefit analysis and presented in a formal proposal document. The Role The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing automated solutions, implementing new processes, optimizing existing processes, automated data collection, and executing the industrial control and programming strategy for GTI's production facilities. The Manufacturing Technology Engineer role will work to upgrade processes and products that may range from incremental improvements to major technology changes. A primary focus is to improve process efficiency, quality, process safety, yield, plant capacity and Overall Equipment Effectiveness. Tasks can include: Training operators in proper process, tool usage, and tool maintenance. Collaborating with other engineering teams on process efficiency, quality, and safety improvement projects. Developing new designs using 3D modeling software like Solidworks for carts or production tools. Then work with the fab shops to complete the fabrication of them in a timely manner.
