About this Job:
Oversees the operation of the Boilers and Chiller Plant and associated equipment ensuring the efficient operation during assigned shift. May be required to lead or assist with regular maintenance or emergency repairs to the boilers chillers and/or related equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees/monitors the operation of the Chiller Plant during assigned shift. Ensures the systems are operating at best possible performance levels.
Performs regular maintenance/repairs to the Chiller Plant such as appropriate during shift reporting larger/ more complicated needs to the Forman or Power Plant Engineer I for action by the maintenance crew.
Assists the maintenance/repair crew with scheduled and emergency repairs to the boilers generators chillers and related Facilities Management equipment.
Ensures that assigned areas are operating within all applicable Hospital federal and local governing codes standards and regulations including but not limited to: OSHA NFPA The Joint Commission and Fire and Life Safety practices.
Learns and remains current with the latest applicable federal and local governing codes standards and regulations regarding fire safety plumbing electrical and plant operations including but not limited to: OSHA NFPA The Joint Commission ASHRAE ANSI DCRA D.C. Fire & Safety Codes and the Hospital's Fire and Life Safety practices.

Trade/vocational school graduate or equivalent with courses in chemistry physics and/or mathematics and such training as to be able to read: layout diagrams blueprints mechanical drawings work sketches etc. preferred

completion of an approved apprentice training program required

Duties/Responsibilities
The Lead/ Principal ASME Codes and Standards Engineer will:
Plan, lead, and enable the ASME Section III projects of multi-discipline system designs, including coaching and mentoring other engineers through execution of the work
Take a lead role in client and stakeholder interactions by effectively communicating technical results, presenting at industry conferences, and engaging with owners, certificate holders, fabricators, regulators and other external stakeholders.
Develop solutions for a range of technical challenges across various projects including but not limited to:
Perform activities under the scope of a Section III, Appendix XXIII Certifying Engineer
Section III Division 1 Classes 1, 2, 3, and Core Support Structures (CSS) component design and construction, including application of elastic, simplified elastic-plastic, and inelastic analysis methods using both design by analysis and design by rule, as applicable.
Section III Division 5 Classes A, B, and SM component construction, including experience in elevated temperature design using elastic, elastic-perfectly plastic, and inelastic analysis methods.
Section III, Division 5, Class SN non-metallic design and construction, including graphite core components.
Perform technical reviews of internal and external work products.
As experienced staff, support of team and project management responsibilities will be included.
Qualifications
This position involves Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Education
Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineer, Structural Engineering, or work experience commensurate with the requirements of Appendix XXIII.
An advanced degree is a plus but not required.
Technical Skills and Experience
Registered Professional Engineer in one or more states.
Appendix XXIII Certifying Engineer Qualification, or the ability to demonstrate and achieve this qualification within 6-months.
Twelve (12) or more years' work experience in the field of mechanical engineering, preferably with development of diverse skillsets such as component design, general structural mechanics, thermal hydraulics, etc.
Experience developing technical solutions by integrating component and system-level requirements to meet manufacturable designs.
Expertise with common structural engineering software, such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, and CAD software, etc.
Able to work closely with engineers of all disciplines to evaluate all facets of a technical problem. Experience successfully working in a collaborative integrated design team is essential.
Strong analytical skills with fundamental understanding of the underlying first principles of engineering, not limited to just nuclear engineering.
Ability to teach and enforce best practices to less experienced engineers to provide accurate, optimal and efficient solutions.

What You'll get to Do:
Lead process and/or equipment engineering efforts utilizing Applied Materials tools, a combination of ENDURA, CENTURA (dry etch and CVD) and MIRRA platforms. This position will focus on driving process optimization and enhancing equipment performance by collaborating with on-site AMAT FSO and engineering functions. In this role you will focus on improving various operational metrics, including:
Process capability (CpK)
Equipment availability
Tool down escalations
Maintenance ratio (M-ratio)
Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
Preventive Maintenance (PM) success rate

This position may qualify for Extended Work Week (EWW) compensation, which provides straight time pay at the regular hourly rate for authorized hours worked beyond 80 in a biweekly pay period. Key Responsibilities:
Provide informal guidance to process and equipment engineers while collaborating and directing Customer Engineers (CEs) in both conference room and hands-on settings.
Create and review documents covering technical improvements, system upgrades, support plans, maintenance manuals and process Best Known Methods (BKMs).
Serve as the primary point of contact for tool downtime escalations, liaising between Applied Materials and internal stakeholders such as Operations, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and site director.
Analyze equipment performance and troubleshoot issues, driving data-based methodologies to enhance yield and efficiency.
Lead process optimization initiatives, developing and implementing strategies to resolve on-wafer issues and diagnostics of equipment malfunctions.

Basic Qualifications:
