Key Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, safety and cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will utilize their problem-solving and analytical skills while collaborating on projects with the design, quality, supply chain and operations departments to ensure seamless production and continuous improvement of manufacturing systems. The Manufacturing Engineer will exercise their strong communication skills when providing product application support to both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be diligent about staying updated with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies to continuously enhance their skills and knowledge, while contributing to Solve's continued growth and success. **This position will sit in our Loveland, OH location**
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare engineered solution documents and presentations, including engineering drawings, CAD models, project proposals and product literature
Design and optimize tooling, fixtures, and work instructions for production operations, while implementing Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency
Reverse-engineering of products to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, processes and equipment
Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity planning to balance workloads, and develop and maintain corresponding SOP's and process documentation
Train and support operators, technicians and production associates in best practices to ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
Liaise with suppliers/subcontractors to confirm product specifications, verify drawings, validate product quality and maintain effective production standards
Assist with quoting special projects and provide technical product expertise, calculations and support to customers and sales team
Lead cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and reliability
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
3+ years manufacturing engineering experience
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies
Experience with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar) and ERP/MRP systems
Solid working knowledge of machining, assembly, automation and other manufacturing processes
Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or similar)
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) implementation experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with bearings and mechanical power transmission products
Automated production process experience

Job Description:
This position supports strategic programs essential to maintaining U.S. Armed Forces' readiness. The successful Manufacturing Engineer will contribute as a member of the production support team. Activities include development of production processes, procedures, and layouts for mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical assemblies. PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The process engineer position is responsible for determining operations to produce products and develops processes to ensure people, quality, velocity and cost requirements are met. • Ability to use 3d SolidWorks software to design simple fixtures and gauges. If no experience with SolidWorks then willing to learn SolidWorks software.
• Assume responsibility for safety/environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes.
• Work 2-5 years working as a process engineer or similar experience.
• Maintain the ERP routings for all part numbers within Dayton SI group.
