Role accountabilities: The Principal Process Mechanical / Wastewater Engineer would be a critical member of our Resilience Water Team and be expected to lead and manage project delivery within the municipal Water / Wastewater market of this region. This professional position offers significant growth opportunities for advancement as you manage delivery teams and build strong client relationships. You will be part of a dynamic team of engineers, leading wastewater treatment process and mechanical design projects and helping our clients develop sustainable and equitable solutions to the challenges faced by the water industry. * Provide leadership, technical knowledge and experience to further develop our design team capabilities. * Serve as design manager and lead project tasks, in collaboration with project managers and clients, in the planning, design, permitting and construction of wastewater and/or reclaimed water facilities including but not limited to treatment facilities and conveyance systems as well as creating and/or overseeing the preparation of construction documents (drawings and specifications) and permit applications, as well as handling construction oversight/administration for both new construction and for rehabilitation work. * Lead preparation of detailed engineering calculations and analysis and utilize design software, as needed, to solve complex issues. * Manage and lead condition assessment evaluations for wastewater system assets including treatment facilities, pipelines and pump/lift stations using a variety of approaches and technologies. * Develop and meet scope, delivery schedules and project budgets for each assignment. * Work directly with project managers and area managers to determine needs and provide solutions and participate, as needed, in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations. * Strengthen client relationships through professionalism and technical expertise in all client meetings. * Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior level engineer and design/drafting technical staff. * Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards. * Travel (up to 20%) may be required to conduct project meetings, site visits, client meetings, , general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project needs. Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications At least 10 years of experience in wastewater treatment and design is required, including experience leading design projects and managing multi-disciplinary design teams. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, or a related field, is required. Additionally, holding a Professional Engineer (PE) License in Florida. Key Skills/Attributes We are looking for a candidate with strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills, along with excellent technical writing abilities. Should have experience managing the preparation, review, and approval of project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, permit applications, RFIs, as-built drawings, and other relevant design and construction documents. Strong client relationship skills are essential, as well as a proven track record of successfully delivering various engineering projects that meet client expectations. Preferred Qualifications It is preferred to have over 15 years of experience in engineering and consulting, with a primary focus on the wastewater municipal market. Ideally having design, permitting, and construction experience with water and wastewater treatment systems, as well as distribution, conveyance, and pumping and storage facilities in Florida. Excellent technical engineering and task management skills are crucial. A Master's degree in Mechanical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering, or a related field, is preferred.     The Process Engineer Intern will assist in optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. You will be responsible to help identify areas for improvement, assist in designing and implementing solutions and ensuring production processes meet regulatory standards and company objectives. Using root cause analysis, this role will support systems improvement, and identify ways to operate differently, utilizing technology where possible to find solutions. Lead preparation of detailed engineering calculations and analysis and utilize design software, as needed, to solve complex issues. Manage and lead condition assessment evaluations for wastewater system assets including treatment facilities, pipelines and pump/lift stations using a variety of approaches and technologies. Develop and meet scope, delivery schedules and project budgets for each assignment. Work directly with project managers and area managers to determine needs and provide solutions and participate, as needed, in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations. Strengthen client relationships through professionalism and technical expertise in all client meetings. Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior level engineer and design/drafting technical staff. Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards. Travel (up to 20%) may be required to conduct project meetings, site visits, client meetings, , general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project needs. Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications At least 10 years of experience in wastewater treatment and design is required, including experience leading design projects and managing multi-disciplinary design teams. Key Skills/Attributes We are looking for a candidate with strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills, along with excellent technical writing abilities.
