To evaluate the entire manufacturing system continuously to improve current processes, systems, and product designs for elimination of waste and recommend potential areas for improvement. Essential Job Results: Improve labor utilization by auditing the current labor standard against the planned labor standard and recommend areas for potential improvement. Next, implement & update the labor standard to reflect this productivity improvement. Prepare work standards and operating guidelines by writing or updating policies, procedures, and work methods. Gather information and make improvements to the manufacturing system by spending the majority of daily time on the plant floor documenting current conditions, analyzing the system for improvements and Kaizen events. Assist or lead the project management of the implementation of new equipment on production floor including gathering technical information, specifications, and capital justification. Contribute to the release and manufacture of new products by participating in prototype and pilot builds, design review and work method implementation. Enable shop floor team members success and facilitate improvement daily. Help identify areas for improvement. In some cases, the areas will be identified through data and reports (scrap reports; FPY reports, etc.). In other cases, the M.E. will spend time on the shop floor with team members watching, asking and listening to identify opportunities. Lead and/or actively participate in improvement projects. The Process Control Engineer role supports the process engineering function by programing, maintaining, and stiving to optimize all process control systems and associated documentation for the Resinall Hattiesburg location.
