What You'll Do:
* Provide technical expertise and project leadership for liquid process system projects at all stages including pre-sales, detail engineering, fabrication, FAT, installation, startup, SAT & customer training.
* Interact with the sales team & clients to establish scopes and expectations to ensure flawless execution.
* Use Shick Esteve and/or customer specifications to engineer a project which meets the customer requirements, is delivered on time, in full, and within the project budget.
* Generate, maintain, review, and/or approve Shick Esteve Engineering documents including, but not limited to, the PFD, P&ID, SOO, E&I List, equipment data sheets, O&M Manuals, and system sizing calculations.
* Review and approve internal and external drawing packages for customers and vendors. This includes plan & elevation, "For Customer Approval", and "For Construction".
* Generate RFQ's, ERP BOM's, and RMA's as needed
* Provide process engineering guidance for pre-engineering site reviews, installation review/supervision, startup assistance, and system acceptance testing.
* Ability to communicate and coordinate with multiple departments, including Project Management, Electrical Engineering, and Field Service to develop a cohesive, high-performing project team focused on flawless execution.
* Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
* Assist in the development of company engineering design procedures and standards.
* Willingness to cross-train on pneumatic conveying and related systems in support of company engineering needs.

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required. Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
* 1-5 years of experience in liquids processing systems is strongly preferred. New graduates with previous co-op or internship experience are eligible.
* AutoCAD proficiency is required.
* SOLIDWORKS or Autodesk Inventor 3D experience preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate internally and externally in the form of technical project guidance, system troubleshooting, site analysis & trip reports, change order options, etc.
* Travel up to 10-25% of the time based on project needs to perform site/installation inspections for customers, equipment reviews/ FATs for vendors, and as needed for other project requirements

This internship is for Summer 2026.
The Process Engineer Intern at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for documenting, improving, and supporting the manufacturing operations used in the production of vinyl siding. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role will be responsible for creating crucial training documentation (ex. Work Breakdown Instructions, Visual Standard Operating Procedures, Cycle Time Definitions, Quality Tools, …). Additionally, the intern will work with several key department leaders to establish and implement business critical improvements (ex. 5S Zones / Standards / Routines / Audits, Visual Management Tools, labor reduction, output increases, equipment reliability, …). Partner with department managers and site engineers to utilize analytical skills and identify opportunities for OEE improvements (i.e. addressing root causes for identified inefficiencies): at times working with counterparts at other Cornerstone Building Brands locations involved in similar Continuous Improvement / Kaizen activities
Identify, select, and implement specific process / tooling / area management near term improvement activities
Establish and maintain Visual Standard Operating Procedures and supporting documentation for the unit operations performed both at the plant and the distribution center

ABOUT THE ROLE
This internship is for Summer 2026.
The Process Engineer Intern at Cornerstone Building Brands is responsible for documenting, improving, and supporting the manufacturing operations used in the production of vinyl siding. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role will be responsible for creating crucial training documentation (ex. Work Breakdown Instructions, Visual Standard Operating Procedures, Cycle Time Definitions, Quality Tools, …). Additionally, the intern will work with several key department leaders to establish and implement business critical improvements (ex. 5S Zones / Standards / Routines / Audits, Visual Management Tools, labor reduction, output increases, equipment reliability, …). Many of these improvements will be shared via live Microsoft Teams Conferences with other plants in our Surface Solutions Division (and potentially with all three Cornerstone Building Brands Divisions and corporate support locations).
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Partner with department managers and site engineers to utilize analytical skills and identify opportunities for OEE improvements (i.e. addressing root causes for identified inefficiencies): at times working with counterparts at other Cornerstone Building Brands locations involved in similar Continuous Improvement / Kaizen activities
Identify, select, and implement specific process / tooling / area management near term improvement activities
Establish and maintain Visual Standard Operating Procedures and supporting documentation for the unit operations performed both at the plant and the distribution center
Review, redline and create as-built drawings for new and existing plant systems
Administer the 5S Audit Program at the Kearney Extrusion Plant and Kansas City Distribution Center
Administer the Operations Winning Impact Team (WIT) Boards used to communicate performance metrics throughout the plant and distribution center
Qualifications
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology, or related field
Knowledge of basic manufacturing efficiency factors included in Overall Equipment Effectiveness calculations is preferred
Familiarity with Workplace Organization, Standard Work, and 5S Philosophies and related tools is preferred
