Responsibilities:
Develop and/or improve processes for the manufacture of new or existing products.
Work with cross-functional teams (primarily Quality and Production) in leading efforts in improving product quality and customer satisfaction.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement countermeasures to prevent failure recurrence.
Develop and implement concepts, including Lean Manufacturing, etc., to reduce manufacturing cost and increase process throughput.
Create/manage manufacturing documentation and provide technical oversight to bring high priority projects to a successful conclusion including training.
Lead manufacturing trials supported by data analysis and recommend appropriate next steps.
Work in a proactive manner to manage the technical direction of assigned manufacturing areas, in concert with the overall technical direction of the site.
Plan and lead the incorporation of engineering flow down requirements to ensure on time delivery.
Expanded technical competency of processes, materials, and products.
Increased capability in workload management.

Required Qualifications:

In this vital role you will be part of our Cleaning Characterization group, based in Amgen's Thousand Oaks, CA.
This group is responsible for the development of cleaning process design supporting new product introduction in Amgen internal manufacturing network for both drug substance and drug product. The cleaning characterization group perform bench scale studies to enable introduction of new molecules manufacturing in Amgen Manufacturing network. The group supports investigation of deviations/non conformances, writes technical cleaning evaluation reports, and supports plant inspections, including Prior Approval Inspections (PAIs).
Job Responsibilities:
Design and perform planned laboratory experiments in assessment of new product cleaning with existing cleaning process.
Help develop new methods, apparatus and procedures for bench-scale cleaning characterization work.
Write technical reports, assessments, and procedures.
Use characterization data to develop key operating parameters (KOPs), testing requirements and acceptance criteria for new product launches in manufacturing.
Work with Quality, Engineering and Cleaning Validation leads to implement Cleaning process requirements at full scale.
Write technical reports based on the bench scale studies supporting individual manufacturing site Cleaning validation program.

Manage process mechanical design for the manufacturing of sterile products in the pharmaceutical, biological, and medical device industries
Assume responsibility for all phases of project execution including concept/strategic planning, engineering design, construction, and turnover to validation in the execution of EPCMV projects
Execute a wide range of projects including system enhancements/unit operation optimization and greenfield construction
