Your role at Clorox:
The Plant Engineer provides day-to-day engineering technical expertise to Operating Departments as needed. Leads the design and implementation of site-based capital and manufacturing improvement projects.
Participates in teams as an expert in the discipline and can work with guiding management oversight. Evaluates the feasibility of manufacturing, packaging, and process systems improvements and modifications. Manages and directs the work of outside engineering consultants and construction contractors during the design and implementation of projects.
In this role, you will:
Lead site-based capital projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, timing, and budget goals.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across packaging, processing, and utility systems.
Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics teams to resolve technical challenges, optimize performance, and support cost savings initiatives.
Manage external engineering consultants and contractors during project execution.
Demonstrate active engagement in enhancing the site's safety performance and food safety compliance by supporting and promoting relevant programs and initiatives. Support environmental sustainability goal achievement.
Identify, support and lead cost savings initiatives across the site and help to reduce plant spending.
Develop personal skills and train teams (Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational) on new techniques, etc. Advocate for engineering innovation at the manufacturing site.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and Clorox Project Management protocols.

Responsiblites include but are not limited too:
Evaluates and develops manufacturing processes or process improvements by gathering KPI and metric data for production processes, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, conferring with equipment vendors, and soliciting observations from manufacturing technicians.
Trains and guides manufacturing technicians in process improvements and requirements.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout, and assisting QA and Purchasing with qualifying new vendors.
Investigates root cause of nonconformances to design or process specifications, develops and implements corrective actions
Responsible for drafting production process instructions, qualification documents, and other documents required for assigned production line, and for maintaining the BOMs, Routes, and other D365 engineering controlled settings for assigned production lines.
Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods for testing finished product, raw material, and process capabilities, and establishing manufacturing standards for manufacturing processes.
Performs Risk Analysis and Mitigation including identifying critical risks and mitigating them.
Drafts and executes verifications and validations for production processes and equipment.
Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Provides technical information support by answering questions and technical support be fulfilling requests for assistance.
Provides hands on technical support for manufacturing process and equipment, as required.
Project management including scoping, planning, and executing projects, including coordinating activities and task monitoring.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) provides technical development and commercialization of domestic, sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies for use in batteries that power electric cars, grid storage applications, and consumer electronics and tools. Our first of kind systems produce commercial-scale battery materials that are sold into the battery manufacturing supply chain.
As our Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will support and enhance the operations of our proprietary lithium-ion battery recycling processes. This individual will work closely with our engineering team and a variety of internal and external experts to ensure the effective functioning of our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a history of process enhancement, problem-solving skills, and a capability to improve methodologies in a unique process system. This role involves consistently assessing existing processing steps and recommending and developing advanced solutions to perpetually enhance system performance and operability. This position will report to the Director of Engineering.
Requirements
Understand process capability of the battery recycling system through data analysis and in-depth knowledge of the process.
Utilize process improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma, SPC etc.) to further improve battery recycling process.
Define system and equipment alarms using Statistical Process Control techniques to notify and/or shut down equipment during out-of-control events.
Troubleshoot down equipment and implement solutions to address root cause (Conveyors, Motors, Pumps, Valves etc.).
Support specification of a factory MES system. Support integration, commissioning and troubleshooting of MES system to ensure product meets company needs.
Develop clear data collection, analysis and visualization tools using software such as MySQL, Python, Minitab, JMP, Tableau and Ignition.
Keep document records for the equipment system up to date (e.g., Equipment Data, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, Controls Narratives, and Wiring Diagrams)
Support commissioning activities of future expansion plans for our first-in-kind battery recycling process.
