Job Description
MISSION:
To deliver the highest quality shell to Casting on time by grinding, dewax, plugging, cleaning, inspecting, insulating and repairing ceramic molds.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Shell Grinding
* Objective: to prepare molds for dewax, deplasticize, flash fire and casting operations.
* Essential Job Functions:
* Grinds mold edges, vents, thermal-coupling tubes, pins and open cups to allow removal of wax per specifications.
* Assures proper drying time between sealer dip and grinding.
* Maintains lot integrity.
* Takes shell weights as required.
* Cleans handles and/or frames of excess shell materials.
* Breaks down framed product by removing skirts, nuts, washers and shell material as needed.
* Removes and cleans plastic band from mold platter (LPCS and LPCT only); pulls string for shell removal as needed. (SSBO only)
* Loads dewax carts according to specifications.
* Dewax/Deplasticize
* Objective: to remove wax from molds of water wash machine and/or high pressure steam autoclave.
* Essential Job Functions:
* Verifies load for size and weight requirements.
* Secures loads for transport and pressurization of autoclave.
* Loads autoclave, records time, operates autoclave.
* Transfers loads to drying oven and operates oven. (SSBO only)
* Removes part from autoclave; transports to shell inspection area.
* Removes impurities from nuts, washers, bolts and frames. (LPCT only)
* Cleans wax residue from underside of mold and seal openings.
* Prepares hoppers for wax drainage from autoclave. (LPCT only)
* Logs dewaxed mold weight onto computer terminal (Marginal job function at SSBO)
* Cleans mold frames of excess ceramic material; transfers frames to storage area or cleaning department.
* Inspection
* Objective: to inspect and repair shells prior to shipment to casting.
* Essential Job Functions:
* Inspects shell for cracks and defects with a variety of hand inspection tools. LPCT only - Borescope used on limited basis if operator notices problem.
* Makes repairs with cement, wax, slurry first dip solution or mesh as needed.
* Plugs vents, holes, risers, and pours cups.
* Installs filters. (SSBO only)
* Verify lot integrity, checks ID markings.
* Verifies water weight to analyze metal needs, checks for leaks.
* Insulation - Final Preparation
* Objective: to attach insulating material to shell as required.
* Essential Job Functions:
* Cuts, wires or uses mud to attach insulating material to shell as required.
* Inspect shells for defects, including storage damage.
* Marks part and lot number on shell.
* Verifies lot integrity.
* Rolls insulated parts over to upright position for final processing.
* Places thermal-couples into mold as directed. (LPCS only)
* Places part on special framing fixtures (LPCS only); transports to casting.
* Assists engineers with template design and modifications of insulating material. (Marginal job function at SSBO)
* Maintains and completes all logs and records; assures shell ID matches paperwork during each process step and transportation.
* Housekeeping
* Cleans work area which may include grinding room sump.
* Meets all production and quality standards.
* Safety
* Objective: to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.

+ Check in all work and cash through window

+ Validate bulk pull and fill each order by packing slip.
+ Complete checklist according to established deadlines for each major function throughout the day

The Qualifications You Must Have:

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in formulation of recipe kits and recipe preparation

Coordinate with the Production Supervisors to ensure all department tasks are completed as planned.
Maintain Olympia Provisions quality standards and safety protocols.
Work within FDA and USDA regulations to maintain compliance in all applicable processes.
Maintain and update daily logs and batch labels to help track in-process products and ingredient inventories.
Understand and follow GMP, SOP, and SSOP.
