Collaborates with clinical Coordinators to verify missing patient/sample information. Biobanking: sorts samples and distributes them to the appropriate storage. Maintains designated laboratory equipment. Prepares samples for processing. Uses various laboratory computer systems for labeling, inquiry, results as needed. Disposes of bio-hazardous and chemical waste in the accessioning room. Assists with department quality and process improvement projects. Sets up supplies for the assigned work area Discards specimens as needed. Upholds all CLIA, CAP, NYS and other state regulations, as required. Call patients to verify and confirm personal information to identify samples Ensure accuracy of patient details in the lab's database, and update any discrepancies or changes.
