Job Summary: The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing the packaging component sourcing of Cohere Beauty products from conception through execution, interacting cross-functionally with key individuals and teams to ensure products deliver the desired brand attributes while meeting quality standards, regulatory requirements, cost targets, and delivery timelines. They will lead, direct, and manage all activities in the packaging space to support Cohere Beauty's commercialization and innovation projects. This is what you will do: Source components and other materials as assigned for new and existing customer projects by quickly ascertaining project requirements, working with suppliers to identify the right products at the best price, and adhering to project timelines. Complete all sourcing tasks associated with new projects and renovations in a timely manner, including sampling, testing, validation, item set up, purchase order creation and tracking, all artwork/silkscreen tasks, corrugate sourcing, pallet configuration, creation of specifications, and other milestones. Establish and maintain a capable supply base through collaboration with R&D and Quality to identify and select appropriate sources of supply; manage positive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers involved in the innovation process. Streamline sourcing tasks, document and follow written processes to increase efficiency, and meet customer and company timelines with standardized sourcing activities. Incorporate knowledge across the packaging industry, including developing business plans, market assessment, and product availability; understand related commodities that can affect the prices of designated products. Build strategic partnerships with key suppliers to optimize profitability, increase on-time delivery, and improve quality. Evaluate existing supplier relationships to expand reliable primary and secondary sources while promoting competition and uninterrupted supply. Participate in developing and implementing sourcing strategies to increase market competitiveness and sustain ongoing category improvements. Ensure satisfactory quality compliance of suppliers regarding contractually specified performance metrics and mitigate any issues with performance that may arise. Actively participate in New Product Commercialization meetings to assess and communicate progress with respect to material supply activities to ensure seamless product development and on-time launch. Coordinate new packaging and design updates, both internally and with outside design suppliers. Understand packaging and labeling regulations and components, domestically and internationally. Ensure product label regulatory compliance and work with the Quality Assurance and R&D teams to ensure ongoing compliance. Continuously improve sourcing and workflow tools. Build packaging knowledge and expertise within and outside of the Supply Chain department (develop knowledge repositories, train team members, share packaging insights across functions).
