About HeyDonto
HeyDonto transforms fragmented dental and healthcare data into interoperable, FHIR-native experiences-bi-directionally.
Our architecture spans on-prem synchronizers and cloud APIs, Kafka + Confluent Schema Registry, GCP, Temporal-orchestrated microservices, and an AI mapping engine rooted in evolutionary neural networks.
We're extending these foundations toward self-healing, self-evolving substrates and semantic intelligence that adapt in real time across heterogeneous clinical ecosystems.
The Mission
Own and unify the end-to-end product design of HeyDonto's data platform-Data Warehouse Management, Pipelines/Workflows, Procedures, AI/NN Analysis, Data Mapping + Mapping UI, Transformation UI, and Data Exposure UI.
The goal: make complex capabilities discoverable, safe, fast, and lovable for power users (data/ML/interop engineers) and approachable for newcomers.

Observability & Safety: Runs, logs, metrics, SLAs/SLOs, incident views, guardrails, rollbacks.
AI-assisted UX: “Explain this failure,” self-healing proposals with confidence and lineage.
Design System (Data-Dense): Components for tables, diff viewers, DAG nodes, code editors, theming & accessibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive product strategy with PM/Eng for authoring, runtime, governance, and intelligence features.
Deliver flows, prototypes, specs, and redlines; validate with usability tests on real data scenarios.
Establish and steward a Data Experience Design System (tokens, components, usage rules).
Define success metrics (e.g., time-to-first-pipeline, mapping accuracy, failure prevention).
Champion accessibility and performance in data-dense UI.
Partner deeply with platform, interop, security, and customer engineering teams.
Qualifications (must-have):
Senior experience in product design and designing data/ETL/devtools or ML/observability platforms.
Portfolio with shipped work in DAG/pipeline tools, schema/mapping UIs, query/transform editors, or observability consoles

If you're tired of the ordinary and driven to build at the edge of what's possible, this is your moment. Join us and lead the movement that's transforming how the world sleeps and what we're all capable of when we wake up.
High Standards. No Apologies.
We operate with intensity because our mission demands it. At Eight Sleep, we bring the same mindset as the world's top performers: focused, relentless, and always pushing to be in the top 1% of our craft. Think Kobe Bryant's mamba mentality, applied to bold ideas, next-gen tech, and flawless execution. This isn't a 9-to-5. Our team is deeply committed, often putting in the extra effort - not because we're told to, but because we're invested. We're here to build fast, push limits, and deliver without compromise. If you thrive under pressure and want to do the most meaningful work of your career, you'll feel right at home. If you're looking for something easier, this isn't it.
The role
We're looking for a product designer who thinks beyond aesthetics. Someone who is as passionate about crafting seamless user experiences as they are about beautiful interfaces. You care deeply about building, shipping, and iterating on real products, not just making polished mockups that never see the light of day.
As a Product Designer on our mobile team, you'll play a critical role in shaping the Eight Sleep app, driving the design of engaging, intuitive, and seamless experiences that help users optimize their sleep and health. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Brand, and Research & Development teams to craft high-quality, data-driven designs that balance aesthetics with usability.
We don't believe in rigid design silos. At many companies, product design is split into UX, UI, and other sub-disciplines. Here, it's all in one. You should be an exceptional generalist who can move fluidly between information architecture, visual design, and interaction patterns, with an eye for both pixel perfection and real-world usability. As a key member of our small but growing design team, you'll have significant ownership over the app experience, ensuring that users can effortlessly track, understand, and optimize their sleep performance while maintaining long-term engagement with the Eight Sleep ecosystem.
How you'll contribute
We are a mission-driven company, so passion for what we do and our mission is key. At a high level, the role encompasses three areas:
* Design: You'll sit at the intersection of Design and Product, playing a key role in the end-to-end design and evolution of the Eight Sleep app. Your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of product design, from information architecture and low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity mockups, and everything in-between.
* Validate: You'll conduct usability studies and user interviews to inform design work, and work closely with our in-house customer discovery squad. You'll use data to inform the success or failure of the design.
* Iterate: You'll combine qualitative and quantitative customer insights to make design decisions that improve our app experience, reduce churn, and increase engagement.
Some other details about the role:
* You'll work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver captivating user experiences that increase membership value and support hardware innovations
* You'll build, document, and organize the UI components of our design library and system to drive consistency across our app and the rest of the brand
* You'll align with Product and Brand stakeholders and clearly present design updates to C-suite leadership for feedback and approval
* You'll serve as the subject matter expert responsible for app design patterns and interactions - including researching and staying up-to-date on emerging mobile design trends and best practices
* You'll collaborate closely with the Engineering, Product, and Marketing teams to ship world class products and features
What you need to succeed
* 4+ years experience in UX and UI, with a strong portfolio including live mobile examples
* You've shipped your designs to public users and have data that proves either success or failure
* You are able to consider the technical implications of design decisions and have the ability to find the right balance between new user value and technical effort
* You have experience coaching junior designers and collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers
* You are obsessed with simplicity, have a high-quality bar for the aesthetics in your design
* You thrive as an independent thinker and can manage the design process from end to end even in open-ended ambiguous environments
* Able and flexible to iterate fast and often
* You are confident in writing clear agendas and decks, and presenting design evolutions to C-Suite leadership
* Your are open to occasional travel to other office locations (San Francisco, New York) to work with other teams in-person
* You are excited about the opportunity to build a fast-growing brand into an iconic company
* You have a Bachelor's degree in a related design field or equivalent experience
Bonus points for:
* Having built iconic, consumer-facing mobile apps at small and mid-size tech startups (with the data & reviews to prove it)
