This organization delivers full lifecycle refrigeration solutions including design, engineering, installation, and service, supporting some of the most demanding temperature-controlled environments in the country.
The Piping Designer will support refrigeration design and construction teams by developing detailed 3D models, layouts, and construction-ready drawings for industrial refrigeration piping systems. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure designs are accurate, coordinated, and optimized for constructability and installation efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed Revit models for refrigeration piping systems including suction, liquid, discharge, oil, and gas piping
Produce coordinated construction documents, layout drawings, and spooling packages
Collaborate with refrigeration engineers and project managers to interpret system designs and installation requirements
Coordinate piping layouts with structural, architectural, and mechanical trades to avoid clashes
Maintain accurate drawings, revisions, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Support constructability reviews and respond to field questions during installation
Assist with as-built documentation and project closeout drawings
Participate in coordination meetings as needed to support project delivery
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a piping designer or detailer using Revit
Experience supporting industrial or commercial mechanical construction projects
Strong understanding of piping systems, layouts, and isometric development
Proficiency in Revit and related BIM coordination tools
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and piping schematics
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple active projects

Prior experience in facility/process and civil/structure designing is preferred. A background with design build engineering in construction is also preferred.
Designer III:
A Designer III produces practical and economical high-quality designs in accordance with industrial and engineering department standards and construction estimates, to be reviewed by a Senior Designer. This role focuses on the design of agricultural related projects in the construction industry, while demonstrating a high level of autonomy and safety. The Designer III performs as the lead designer on one medium sized project or multiple smaller projects. This position typically reports to the Engineering Project Manager.
Evaluate and research diverse design solution methods

What We're Looking For:

Experience:A minimum of seven (7) years of facility/process design, civil/structural design, or related industry experience is required. Specific experience in the food, agricultural, plant design or material handling and process systems industry is desirable. LEAN principles experience and ability to apply principles is desirable. OSHA 10 OR 30 Hour certification is preferred, or the willingness to obtain upon hire.
Designer III: At least five (5) years experience of design engineering is necessary.
Sr. Designer: At least five (7) years experience of design engineering is necessary.
Technology: Proficiency in basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Employee should have experience with coordination and complete modeling within Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD, and have the ability to learn other specific software (JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, etc.). Procore experience is a plus.
Skills: Candidate must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills, team leadership, business acumen and management ability. Employee must have negotiation, relationship building, organization skills, and construction knowledge. Effective communication, project management, judgment, initiative, time management and attention to detail, flexibility, and problem solving are necessary skills for this position. Ample systems experience with latest design platforms is required.
