You'll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks as you gain familiarity with the client's expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. Highlights of your contributions will include: * Layout and design of HVAC systems. * Development of the design criteria for the HVAC systems. These HVAC systems would include general comfort heating and cooling, those with accurate temperature or humidity control, unique pressurization requirements, and/or cleanliness requirements for clean room applications. * Development of conceptual design and preliminary design documents, which would include calculations related to sizing and selecting these systems, the development of Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and general arrangements. * Development of final design documents including specifications, sequences of operation, duct/piping layout, and final construction documents associated with these systems. These systems would include chilled water, cooling water, etc. * Coordination with other disciplines. Job Description: T5 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work. Under general supervision of the Program Management Team, performs a variety of office and field engineering assignments related to self-performed or subcontracted design-build infrastructure projects including buildings, communications towers and FAA infrastructure. The project engineer at this level regularly engages in problem analysis and exercises discretion and independent judgment in selecting and applying engineering theories and general industry practices. May give functional guidance to craft or lower-level technical personnel. Willingness to travel to construction site locations is expected.
