Standard EssentialFunctions Develop and improve manufacturing processes as required to meet production demand. Work with the NPD team to deliver new products on time. Includes: capacity and capability assessment, process selection and development, SOP development, cell design & implementation, control plan development and capital project justification & implementation. Lead continuous improvement activities to improve manufacturing operations. Lead Kaizen events as needed. Interface with colleagues, customers, vendors and others to understand requirements, assess feasibility of new/existing products, and improve production techniques. Analyze technology trends, plans and executes capital projects. Define Process and equipment capabilities. Clearly communicate data and feedback to other departments so decisions can be timely and optimized. Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques to develop flow through manufacturing processes. Complete all Corrective Action Records (CAR's) assigned in a timely manner. Red line travelers and create rework planning. Make planning changes in Master Planning and work orders in BAAN. Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area. Performs other assignments as required. Required Experience and Education Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or a technical discipline or associates degree in related field with a combination of 2 years relevant work experience required. 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment required. Ability to apply advanced mathematical and statistical concepts. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Experience with project management required. Lean Six Sigma Training and experience is required. Preferred Skills and Experience Master's degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is desirable. See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview: As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are the process owner and subject matter expert for one or more aluminum machining lines for an array of component parts. You will provide ongoing technical support for daily operations as well as driving continuous improvement projects to reduce costs, increase FPY, and improve process capability. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required 3-5 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a machining environment Strong mechanical as well as “hands on” aptitude Experience with machining processes (e.g. tooling, workholding, CNC programs) Ability to interact & communicate with different functions & various levels of employees Excellent problem solving skills & ability to prioritize projects PC skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Good communication skills both written and oral. Proficient with 2D CAD for floorplan planning (Autocad) Preferred Qualifications: Experience with machining processes, aluminum experience a plus Experience managing and executing capital projects Experience in PPAP/new product launches, with a manufacturing focus ASQ, SME, Lean Six Sigma certification Understanding of GD&T, Reading and understanding engineering drawings Knowledge of SPC, data analysis a plus Proficient with 3D CAD (CREO) The anticipated pay range for this position is 72,000 to 115,300 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
