Senior EDI Engineer Minimum Qualifications:

Senior EDI Engineer Preferred Skills:Programming/Scripting:
XPath/XSLT, Java/Groovy, SQL, UNIX shell or PowerShell for automation and monitoring.

Senior EDI Engineer Key Responsibilities:
Partner Lifecycle - Lead end-to-end onboarding/off-boarding of trading partners (requirements gathering, mapping, connectivity, certifications, go-live). Maintain partner profiles, certificates, schedules, and SLAs; coordinate mass migrations or consolidations when required.
Transaction Monitoring & Support - Monitor daily EDI/B2B traffic (X12, EDIFACT, XML/JSON, cXML, flat files) via Sterling dashboards, alerts, and custom reports. Troubleshoot failures, perform root-cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes in collaboration with infrastructure, network, and business teams.
Mapping & Development - Design, code, and test complex maps, adapters, and business processes in SI (Graphical Process Modeler/BPML). Optimize performance, re-factor legacy maps, migrate existing EDI transactions from legacy to modern B2B systems and enforce mapping standards and reusable components.
Stakeholder Engagement - Serve as technical contact for external partners and VANs; translate business requirements into technical solutions. Provide support, mentor junior staff, and contribute to 24×7 on-call rotation.
Continuous Improvement - Track KPIs (acknowledgement timeliness, error rates, cycle times); recommend automation and process improvements. Evaluate emerging B2B/EDI tools and suggest roadmap enhancements with PEM, API-first B2B gateways, FTP to SFTP conversions etc.
Determines and corrects errors where problems may span systems.
Provides on-call support on a rotating basis for all production related problems with responsibility to provide the computer operator with instructions to correct problem.

Position Description:
The Associate Director Process Engineering - Peptides Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) provides leadership and direction to the process engineers to ensure that engineering deliverables are sufficiently resourced and qualified to support the Peptides production and business agenda. This role is responsible for the productivity and development of process engineers with the purpose of ensuring that reliable and compliant equipment and systems are used in the manufacturing of peptide products. Additionally, the Associate Director of Process Engineering - Peptides leads this process engineering organization and influences across functional disciplines to support the process engineering agenda, business plan priorities, and compliance plan objectives.
In the project delivery phase and startup phase of the project (startup expected 2025 to 2028+), leadership roles will be fluid and dynamic as we endeavor to support the project delivery teams, build a new organization, develop and implement the necessary business processes required to support GMP operations, and build the site culture. This will require significant collaboration, creativity, and resilience as the site grows to full scale API GMP manufacturing through start up.
Responsibilities:
Pre-Startup and Startup Phase
* Attract, hire, and onboard a significant number of top talent to the Peptides Process Engineering team, establishing the right attitude, curiosity, and learning agility to deliver on the site mission.
* Build the organization with the necessary capability, capacity, and culture to operate this facility to the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
* Develop and implement the business systems and processes needed to run the site, leveraging existing Lilly knowledge where necessary, but also incorporating external experience.
* Establish lean practices and a continuous improvement mindset throughout operations and the direct supporting organizations.
* Support the project team to deliver the facility to you as the end user, by providing feedback and support on design decisions, commissioning & qualification strategies etc.

* Ensure technical review and approval for documents, including investigations, change controls, regulatory submissions, expert opinions, validations, annual product reviews, manufacturing tickets, procedures, process flow documents, personnel qualification strategies, control strategies, technical studies, etc.
* Interact with regulators, customers, or other outside stakeholders on business issues or in support of internal and external agency audits.
* Network globally to share best practices, rationale, and control strategies to ensure harmonization and alignment between sites.
* Develop the strategic and operational plans for Operations and be responsible for the execution of these plans in his/her areas of direct responsibility.
* Participate in development and delivery of the medium- and long-term strategic direction for the site.

Basic Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, or another engineering discipline with extensive API or chemical manufacturing experience
* 3+ years of experience and proven capabilities within small molecule and/or peptides GMP manufacturing environment required.
* 3+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership.

Summary
The Project Engineer supports field activities and spends a majority of time working with the Project Manager supporting project administration on multiple small projects, or one medium to large-size projects. Activities include managing the job transition process; and supporting the management of cost and schedule, constructability, technical evaluations, quality, safety, work planning, procurement, contract management, regulatory compliance, etc.

Lilly is currently constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for production of API molecules located in Lebanon, IN. This facility is Lilly's largest investment in manufacturing capacity and is intended to provide APIs for current and future products, including new modalities. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the site team for the startup of a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to build the organization, the facility and the culture to enable a successful startup into GMP manufacturing operations.
Description:
The Associate Director - Process Control & Automation Engineering is responsible for the supervision of the process control engineers and technicians that support the daily operations of the facility. The Associate Director is also responsible for the productivity and development of the employees with the purpose of ensuring that reliable and compliant control applications and systems are used in the manufacturing of API drug substance. Additionally, the Associate Director partners to influence and implement within the process control organization and across functional disciplines to support the process control technical agenda, business plan priorities, and compliance objectives.
In the project delivery phase and startup phase of the project (startup expected 2025 to 2027), leadership roles will be fluid and dynamic as we endeavor to support the project delivery, build a new organization, develop and implement the necessary systems and business processes required to support GMP operations, and build the site culture. This will require significant collaboration, creativity and resilience as the site grows to a full scale GMP manufacturing through start up.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Administrative Leadership
* Supervise and coach process control team, including completing performance reviews and development plans
* Staffing, including recruiting, resource planning, and succession planning
* Process control work coordination
* Review and monitor financial performance; commit to meeting targets
* Develop and implement the Process Control Engineering Business Plan.
Operational Excellence
* Demonstrate a commitment to environmental, health, and safety (including PSM)
* Identify, track, and report key indicators of functional performance
* Ensure team is operating in a state of compliance
Organizational Capability
* In coordination with automation and compliance consultants, set and reinforce standards for appropriate rigor in automation work products.
* Assure focus by engineers and completion of critical assignments with appropriate monitoring and reporting
* Be a fully active member of the flow leadership in running the plant, including participation on management sub-teams.
Basic Requirements:
* Minimum B.S. in Engineering (preferably Chemical Engineering)
* 5 + years of experience in Process Control and Automation Engineering, preferably in API manufacturing.

* Ability to ensure appropriate technical depth and rigor with departmental technical deliverables.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$123,000 - $180,400
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
