The candidate will be responsible for the design of mechanical, plumbing and utility systems for industrial food processing facilities. The primary applications include steam, compressed air, chilled water, hot water, domestic water, HVAC/Refrigeration, natural gas, plumbing and other process-related systems. Required skills include HVAC heat load calculations (knowledge of HVAC load calculation software) and diversities, industrial ventilation design, equipment specification, selections and alternatives, controls and sequencing of operations, pressurization and hygienic zoning, knowledge of current industry refrigerant regulations, etc. It is assumed the candidate can design such systems with limited direction, can mentor others, and be capable of supervising the work of other engineers and designers while serving as the lead engineer on any given project. The role at times may require independent work or the need to manage team members assigned to their projects, while ensuring project requirements, schedule, and overall document quality are met.
