The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for taking projects from start to finish to support customer quality and delivery expectations. This individual will work cross-functionally with all departments and support the manufacturing floor on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
• Complete technical reviews of drawings and specifications.
• Create bills of materials, manufacturing methods, and visual work instructions for all products.
• Complete costing estimates to support new and repeat business activities.
• Review completed jobs to analyze costs and adjust manufacturing methods as required to drive productivity.
• Develop specialized tooling/fixturing as required for both manufacturing and inspection of products.
• Review and adhere to job schedules and milestones.
• Work with engineering, manufacturing, and inspection to ensure product quality and performance meets specifications.
• Support in the completion of root cause and corrective action reports as required to address issues.
• Provide training to team members as needed.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in the aerospace/defense industry, preferably in an environment with consistent NPI.
• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Hands-on experience with both mechanical and electro-mechanical products.
• Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to interpret and review 3D models using SolidWorks.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, including Machining, Assembly, and Chemical Processing.
• Experience with Mastercam and CNC machining a plus.
• Epicor ERP experience a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

I am Partner & VP at RSM Solutions, Inc and I have been recruiting technical talent for more than 23 years and been in the tech space since the 1990s. Due to this, I actually write JD's myself...no AI, no 'bots', just a real live human. I realized a while back that looking for work is about as fun as a root canal with no anesthesia...especially now. So, rather than saying 'must work well with others' and 'team mindset', I do away with that kind of nonsense and just tell it like it is.
So, as with every role I work on, social fit is almost as important as technical fit. For this one, technical fit is very very important. But, we also have some social fit characteristics that are important. This is the kind of place that requires people to dive in and learn. The hiring manager for this one is actually a very dear friend of mine. He said something interesting to me not all that long ago. - You will be an authority on consumer product technologies, engineering principles (motorized & heated consumer products), solution selection, manufacturing techniques and material selection across multiple product categories.
Builder of Things
- Build proof-of-concept rigs with a combination of existing own brand components together with new 3D printed or CNC parts, then build custom micro-controller PCBA's or Arduino controllers to bring it all together that allows cross-functional teams to provide buy-in early to determine suitability on a product roadmap before moving into the internal development process.
Communicate
- You will be a strong and convincing communicator within the product innovation team, capable of making presentations with clean data that demystifies complex engineering studies in an easy-to-understand language for both the Head of Product Innovation, as well as leadership in the US and China.
Consumer Insights
- You will guide our design solutions by forming a complete picture of consumer needs and how new products will address these needs and create a delightful experience.

Education -
At least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, a BSc/MSc in Industrial Design Engineering is strongly preferred. This is NOT an Industrial Design role.
Experience -
10+ years in Consumer Product design and development for international markets.
