Review project drawings and/or specifications for given projects. Establish and create submittals in conjunction with submittal logs. Assist with the production and/or processing of RFIs. Material procurement including quantity take-offs coordination with purchasing team and tracking tools to ensure product is delivered on schedule. Change Order pricing, including lump sum change orders and Field Work Order tracking and proposals. Assist engineering department on design/build projects. Attend project and field job site meetings as needed. Coordinate schedules with the field team and superintendent onsite. Coordinate schedules with vendors, manufacturers, and subcontractors. Interact with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and providing timely responses. Prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with time-sensitive deadlines. Understand and follow operating procedures within company and jobsite guidelines. Represent the company in a safe and professional manner. Skills and Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in the electrical construction industry as a Field Engineer and/or Estimator High school diploma or GED required Degree in Construction management, engineering or related field preferred Experience with Accubid Trimble preferred Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam Ability to problem solve and drive positive resolutions Adept at organizing and documentation Strong research and analytical skills Knowledge of inventory and supply management preferred Working Conditions This position is based in our Reno office and is not eligible for remote work. Work may be performed in an office or on active job sites, depending on role and project needs. Office work includes sitting, typing, and using a computer for extended periods. These products are manufactured on a variety of CNC machining work centers including Swiss lathes, horizontal and vertical machine centers, 5-axis mills and mill-turns. Investigate new processes and improvement implementations. Procure equipment and resources needed for improvements and implementations. Justify resources, equipment and processes. Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors regarding modification or installation of machinery and utilities. Provide quality determinations and possible solutions. Create and track Engineering Change Orders, Manufacturing Quality Alerts and Noncompliance Reports. Make adjustments to prints regarding dimensional changes, costs and manufacturability. Provide work holding improvement for new or existing products. Interface with programming regarding improvement opportunities. Estimate part manufacturing cost based on machine shop capability, material and outside processes. Provide insight for R&D engineers on shop capabilities and repeatability to reduce costs and improve practices for new and existing parts. Qualifications A team player who collaborates. Familiar with individual machine safety features/dangers. Must possess competent verbal and written communication skills as required to interface with other departments and company personnel. Must demonstrate proficient computer literacy. Must be adaptable to changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. Must demonstrate excellent troubleshooting techniques and critical thinking skills. Competent in maintaining databases or archives. Must be able to read drawings and specifications with a proficient understanding of GD&T. Understands how to properly inspect parts based off specified dimensions and tolerances. Knowledgeable of common manufacturing practices. Proficient using CAD software to design and model fixtures, parts and tooling. Familiar with ISO, LEAN and Six Sigma manufacturing practices. Education/Experience BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or related engineering required. 0-3 years of experience with various types of machining and manufacturing or other related industry.
