AIAA (www.aiaa.org), located in Reston, VA is seeking a Content and Product Strategy Manager to guide the development and integration of programming that expands the boundaries of traditional aerospace, such as cybersecurity, autonomy, sustainability, and the space economy into AIAA events, publications, and learning in line with the Institute's Strategic Plan priorities and Aeronautics, Space, and Research and Development (R&D) Domain content approach. Reporting to the Senior Director, Adjacent Content and Product Development, the Content and Product Strategy Manager will align adjacent content with the AIAA Aeronautics, Space, and R&D Content Domain roadmaps, producing a long-term vision for products based upon the specific adjacent content. The Content and Product Strategy Manager will collaborate within the organization of cross-functional, internal AIAA staff team(s) to ensure the successful execution of products and programs, achievement of expectations, and delivery of customer value in assigned adjacent content areas. Responsibilities: Develop content strategy and operational requirements for assigned adjacent content area(s) in close collaboration with staff team(s) based upon the Domain roadmaps, guiding coalition input (for forums), market analysis, customer feedback, and crowd-sourced input. Coordinate and integrate aerospace-related content with internal teams as necessary to facilitate product and program development. Collaborate with Team Senior Directors and Domain Leads to ensure representation of target audience constituencies in Domain Task Forces. Contribute and collaborate with the Forum Content and other staff teams to develop the adjacent content vision for the forums on an ongoing basis. Collaborate with Event staff on operational requirements for adjacent content programming including the types of activities/events required to fulfill the adjacent content strategy, create a compelling user experience and customer value, and achieve revenue objectives. Collaborate with the Revenue Development, Marketing, and Communications team and other Product Operations stakeholders to set key indicators, revenue targets and pricing for adjacent content products. Collaborate with staff liaisons to volunteer committees and coordinate with volunteer leaders and committees to identify themes, focus areas, and high-level topics to be addressed. Deliver key content strategy and content components on schedule to ensure optimal marketability of adjacent content and related products. Research and analyze important technologies and keep up to date with industry players and technology trends to ensure content is relevant to the intended audience and will be served by the product. Represent the Institute and its membership in interactions and events with peer organizations and stakeholders in adjacent science and technology sectors. Cultivate, enhance, and sustain relationships with key representatives among peer organizations and stakeholders in adjacent science and technology sectors. Establish and maintain relationships with key professionals, industry leaders, and C-level executives throughout the year. Work with Domain Leads, sponsors/partners, volunteer committees, AIAA staff, and outside resources to source, select, and secure the participation of high-level, industry-leading speakers through research, networking, and existing contacts. Support development, refinement, and execution of the marketing and sales strategies to enable successful execution by responsible team members and external partners. Collaborate with Sales team to set revenue targets and outline and refine sponsorship and exhibit opportunities (where appropriate) for supporting adjacent content initiatives and communities. Collaborate in the definition and refinement of sales and engagement opportunities particularly for nonendemic markets and customers. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience; preference for a degree in a science or engineering related field, or in science and technology policy. Requirements/Qualifications: At least five to ten (5-10) years of relevant experience working in a technical, project management, or science and technology policy position Management or technology consulting experience highly desired Business development experience highly desired Strong knowledge of aerospace, defense, and adjacent issues and stakeholders Incumbent should be creative, ambitious, passionate, and intellectually curious about the aerospace and adjacent industries.
