Product Quality Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to take on the challenging role of Product Quality Engineer for our growing silicon carbide Power and RF businesses. This person will be responsible for driving improvement in customer satisfaction by aligning the needs of the customer with continuous improvement actions taken in the fabs. This position will interact directly with business quality teams as well as fab engineering teams to identify and drive necessary actions.

This position reports to the Manufacturing Quality Engineering Manager and is based in Durham, NC.

What you can do for Wolfspeed:
Manage and drive timely closure of customers' issues by collaborating with business teams, factories, and other support teams.Lead and support quality management activities such as audits, RMA responses, and problem-solving feedback to customers.Work with the internal technical organizations and teams to ensure high quality products are achieved and that customer expectations are met.Drive quality improvements to meet all customer expectations regarding PPM of product shipped, quality of corrective action reports, and cycle time of customer requests.Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with business as well as fab engineering teams.Direct, manage and coordinate activities of cross-functional engineering to respond to customer quality issues.Receive assignments in the form of broad objectives and translate into detailed action plans to meet objectives.

What you need for success:
BS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related degree.Minimum 5 years' experience, preferably with a focus on semiconductor engineering and quality.Knowledge in quality systems and semiconductor wafer fabrication.Good understanding of the global automotive business, customer requirements, and end user behavior.The ability to operate in a fast pace, highly dynamic environment, at a detailed execution level, as well as on a tactical / strategic level.Excellent communication and project management skills.Demonstrated capability of interacting with senior leaders through the organization.Ability to work in large, complex, global environment.

Anduril's Quality organization is seeking a Product Quality Engineer to join our team. The Quality team works with our customers, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure the deployment of reliable products that meet all mission requirements. We develop cutting-edge Quality processes and methods to secure scalable, long-term business success.

As a Product Quality Engineer, you will work inside and outside the organization to define and execute processes that deliver reliable products. The right person for this role has knowledge of manufacturing, product development, and continuous improvement. WHAT YOU'LL DOOwn the elimination of product risk to improve reliability across the product lifecycle. Engage in Quality activities from concept through development and manufacturing to field use.Ensure the execution of product and process requirements. Define and improve such requirements.Work cross-functionally to define and execute the product roadmap. Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities. Review the effectiveness of actions and share lessons learned across the product team.Lead product health data analysis and improvement activities.Support the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System. Define and improve required documentation and activities.Support investigations, initiatives, and projects as needed, at the team or organization level.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Engineering or similar technical field Working knowledge of ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements.Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes. Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in aerospace/defense, automotive, medical device, or similar complex hardware.A strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion.U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data

What You'll Do

Ownership of New Product Introduction Quality, Factory Quality and Field Quality, as well as driving detailed quality improvements, while working in close engagements with internal and external partners. Ownership of product quality, both hardware and software, for assigned product family. Factory yield performance management to factory quality goals. Ensure New Product Introductions meet quality requirements through phase gate reviews. Perform data analysis to detect trends in field reliability performance. Perform field critical issue management by working with cross functional teams to identify units for failure analysis, pursue root cause(s) of failure and partner with these organizations in their development of corrective actions to address design, software, and manufacturing processes to corrective product deficiencies. Work with the business, engineering, IPT teams, OEM/ODM, and manufacturing partners to propagate known solutions across adjacent legacy products and new products, thus improve the customer experience with Cisco products.

Who You'll Work

You will work with both internal Cisco stakeholders and external partners/customers to improve product quality. You will work with the New Product Introduction Team such as Development Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Hardware Engineers, and Manufacturing partners to ensure the right level of quality on new product. The Product Quality Engineers also work with external partners and customers on improving failures found in the field. You will have the ability to inspire change and improve product quality in collaboration with a diverse multi-functional team while making a difference to Cisco's customers.

Who You Are

You excel at data analytics and can transform and model data with the goal of discovering useful information, suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision-making. You have good knowledge and understand how to measure and improve quality. You can lead individuals and teams to determine root cause of field failures. You can provide risk assessment. You can also determine if appropriate screens or containment actions should be implemented based on failure mechanism and data analysis until such time that long term corrective action(s) are put in place. You can prepare technical reports, summarize them, and communicate with appropriate Quality, Manufacturing, Business Ops and Engineering teams in an effective and collaborative manner. You can assist with "change implementation" and the objective to transition the organization from a reactive to a proactive culture to better meet internal and external customer requirements. You can harmonize with functional groups at all levels to address and resolve critical product and customer issues.

Our Minimum Requirements For This Role

* BS/BA in Engineering (Electrical) with Data Analytics experiences.

* Very good knowledge of hardware design process, engineering qualifications, and data analytics tools and software.

* While this position is largely focused on the quality performance of hardware platforms, a knowledge of software quality is very helpful.

* Preferred: Familiarity with Agile and/or automation
