Zoox is building the quality team that will take our first-in-class autonomous robot from development to commercialization. The Product Quality manager is responsible for leading the design quality and field quality teams to ensure that we have the right metrics, the right processes, and the right team to ensure that Zoox L3 & L5 vehicles are designed and built to meet quality expectations.

ResponsibilitiesManaging the daily activities of the design quality and field quality teams - including goal setting, performance management, and professional development of team members Defining, collecting, and reporting the key performance indicators to drive improvements in the quality of Zoox L3 & L5 fleet vehicles Managing quality issue tracking and driving root cause analysis and corrective actions for the product quality team Leading continuous improvement efforts to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of product quality team processes Partner with the design, studio, experience, and the other quality teams to identify opportunities for product quality performance improvement and escalate to senior management as necessary to achieve success Collaborate with other members of the quality team to develop key quality specifications and procedures

QualificationsExperience managing a team of quality engineers and technicians in development through commercialization phases of the product and service lifecycle; including developing and evaluating appearance requirements, and developing and measuring service performance metrics.Experience with quality issue management systems (such as Jira) Demonstrated proficiency in performing quality root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions Demonstrated experience driving quality initiatives and successfully delivering desired quality outcomes Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related technical field

Bonus QualificationsAt least 10 years of experience in quality engineering Automotive experience at the OEM or Tier I level Experience in start-up/product launch activities

About the Role

This role will report to the Director, of Product Quality on the Medical Affairs team.

As a Manager, Product Quality, you will work on the Product Quality team assisting with the maintenance of a Quality Management System that complies with Federal and State regulations. In this role, you will help manage Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes across Ro's products (Medical Devices, OTCs, Supplements, Compounding Pharmacies). You will partner closely with your Product Quality peers along with the subject matter experts (SMEs) across the organization to help draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other necessary controlled documents. You will also help manage employee training, ensuring each team has the necessary training logs for new and existing personnel. This role will also be responsible for the management of quality processes including CAPAs, Deviations, and Audits.

Who are you? You have a strong familiarity with best quality practices, and regulatory compliance related to Quality Systems and audits. You're knowledgeable, think big and you're able to drive quality with focus, communicating the “why” behind quality effectively in a cross-functional environment. You're a strong advocate for your team and have the will to win while putting your own personal twist into your work. As a key member of our fast-growing start-up, you need to have a passion for building scalable programs that can be used to support future growth of compounding operations.
What You'll Do:Help develop, implement and maintain a robust quality program/Quality Management SystemPartner with the legal and compliance team to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory statutes and guidance including FDA 21 CFR 820, USP 3, 795, 800, and 1163, FDA Guidance and MOU documents, regulations, and requirements for all 50 states Conduct initial and routine vendor audits to ensure compliance and quality standards are being met by our partners Act as a member of the internal audit team to help successful execution of internal audit schedules Assist department leadership with designing, implementing, and actioning proactive and retrospective process improvement programs including a CAPA/RCA process Serve as a member of Ro's 3rd party audit team and help maintain audit readiness across RoStay abreast of changing industry requirements
What You'll Bring to the Team: Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or biochemistry4+ years of cGMP Quality Assurance / Quality Control experience in a regulated environment Previous role as a participant on a team that successfully implemented a Quality Program/Quality System across an organization Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for vendor and internal audits Experience with FDA regulations and inspections Strong attention to detail and ability to think strategically and tactically Six Sigma or other quality improvement certifications, strongly preferred Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Irrational passion for building the future of healthcare with an emphasis on quality processes to drive successful patient outcomes
