About the Position:
At Parafin, ProductEngineers are the implemented product experts. We bridge design, product, and backend, which means we're responsible for making sure everything actually works the way it should. We are care about things beyond the specs like understanding why features exist, who uses them, and what problems they solve. You'll own the entire frontend: every transition, every edge case, every state change that happens between a user's action and what appears on their screen.
You don't need to know our exact stack coming in, but you should be strong with JavaScript fundamentals and have shipped real products with React and TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities
Working under the direction of the Manager of Product Safety, serve as Product Safety Engineer supporting key Business Units and customers. Assist with other businesses or Enterprise-wide initiatives as requested by the Senior Director, Product Safety.

Provide product safety-related input on concept and feasibility studies. Perform product/system safety analysis on components, subsystems, and systems. Prepare periodic and special reports in connection with engineering studies and projects as needed.

Summary
We are looking for a well-rounded Senior Staff / Principal level Functional Safety Engineer with 8+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry to lead and drive Automotive IC products to achieve ISO 26262 functional safety compliance at ASIL D. Key Responsibilities

Implement System Element out of context (SEooC), Assumption of Use (AoU) apprach and derive safety goals with ASIL decomposition strategies.
Drive technical safety architecture definition for digital, analog, and mixed-signal ICs, including design and verification of safety mechanisms (ECC, lockstep CPUs, watchdogs, voltage/clock monitors).
Perform and lead FMEA, FMEDA, and FTA analyses ensuring ASIL metrics (SPFM, LFM, PMHF) are satisfied.
Independently conduct Functional Safety Audits, Confirmation Measures, Assessments, and Reviews.
Collaborate with internal design, verification, and software teams to ensure freedom from interference and safe partitioning of ASIL vs. QM functions.
Partner with OEMs, Tier 1 customers, and external assessors to address safety issues, support audits, and resolve concerns.
Perform HW evaluation on non-compliance Ips (internal and external based)
Support ASPICE Level 3 process development, ensuring alignment of FuSa with broader quality and process frameworks.
Mentor junior functional safety engineers and help shape best practices across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Eng., or related discipline.
8+ years of experience in Semiconductor development, specifically Automotive ICs.
Proven record of leading functional safety projects independently through ASIL D certification.
Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 (Part 2-11) and related standards.
Past involvement in ASPICE Level 3 infrastructure and process development.
Deep hands-on experience with:

A Day in the Life:
Starting each morning with a walk through the plant to ensure that all employees have the tools and resources to have a safe and productive day.
Working alongside the production team to ensure that all safety guidelines are met by auditing and doing departmental checks throughout the day.
Leading safety training and retraining to ensure each employee is empowered with the understanding of their role in the safety at the plant.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Report to the plant Safety Manager and perform tasks as directed with the highest level of transparency

Conduct and report all incident investigations and determine root cause and corrective plans
First Aid response and treatment for employee injuries including transporting injured workers to seek medical treatment when needed
Guide employees through the workers compensation process alongside plant HR, maintaining records and facilitating all restrictions
Accurate and concise record keeping of all safety related documents and processes including but not limited to training records, SOPS, SDS, and OSHA abatement documents.
Job Requirements:

4-year technical degree mechanical or mechanical engineering technology, Fire Protection Safety Engineering technology, Environmental health and safety sciences etc.

1. You Can Be Yourself. You don't have to put on a fake, professional face. You can just be yourself. You can talk smack to the CEO (highly encouraged), and no one will think anything of it. No.
--Wait... What?--
OK fine. Super short version:
Inventing remarkable consumer products - taking concepts from "this should exist" to "holy shit, why didn't this exist before" - in the kitchen and household space.
Bulleted Responsibilities:
Take product concepts and figure out how to make them work elegantly
Design products in CAD (we use SolidWorks, but we're flexible on software)
Prototype heavily in-house (3D printing, testing, breaking, improving, repeat)
Iterate relentlessly until the product hits our "remarkable" quality threshold
Collaborate with our supply chain team on Design for Manufacturing and sourcing decisions
Deliver production-ready CAD files and specifications for manufacturing
Solve hard problems that don't have obvious solutions (this is like 80% of the job)
To give you an idea of what we make: Beverage Barricades (the magnetic drink guard), CrocoDicer, and various kitchen gadgets that make people's lives meaningfully better. We're not making generic private label crap - we're inventing things that are genuinely novel and patentable.
Fair warning: this is slow, deliberate work. A single product might take 6-36 months from concept to launch. We are quality-obsessed and refuse to ship mediocre products. If you need the dopamine hit of shipping something every week, you will be miserable here.
Like everyone else in the company, you will also need to innovate regularly - which means figuring out ways to improve quality and production speed.
It is challenging, but fun work that's going to require a lot of time and task management, problem-solving, and a reasonable amount of people skills.
--Do I need a college degree?--
You just need to be awesome.
--Are there any geographic restrictions?--
As long as you are in a country that doesn't have active sanctions from the US government, we are interested. Our founder isn't known for respecting the government much, but they have all the guns, so…
--Do I need an engineering degree?--
Nope. Our current productengineer is largely self-taught and didn't go to engineering school. We don't care about credentials - we care about whether you can actually invent great products. If you can demonstrate strong CAD skills and a track record of making things, that matters way more than a diploma.
--What CAD software do you use?--
We currently use SolidWorks, but we're not religious about it. What matters is that you can produce production-ready 3D models. If you're proficient in Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar - that's fine. Just know that you'll need to come in with strong 3D modeling skills; we're not training from zero.
--How many products will I work on at once?--
Typically 1-2 at a time. This is deep focus work, not juggling a dozen things. You'll spend months on a single product, iterating until it's genuinely great.
--What if I've never worked in consumer products before?--
That's fine, as long as you have demonstrated ability to design and prototype physical products. Whether that came from industrial design, mechanical engineering, or just being a maker who builds stuff in your garage - we care about the skill, not the pedigree.
--Do I need to deal with manufacturers directly?--
You'll collaborate with our supply chain team on Design for Manufacturing and be involved in sourcing decisions, but you won't own the vendor relationships. Supply chain handles the day-to-day communication with factories. Your job is to design products that can actually be manufactured.
--What does a typical day look like?--
Variable as hell. Some days you're deep in CAD. Some days you're running prototype tests. Some days you're researching materials or competitor products. Very few meetings. Basically no bureaucracy. What's consistent is working independently, solving hard problems, and pushing toward "remarkable."
--6-36 months per product? Really?--
Really. We iterate until it's genuinely great. We'd rather take 2 years to launch something remarkable than rush out something mediocre in 3 months. If that timeline makes you anxious, this probably isn't the role for you.
--What types of products will I be working on?--
Primarily kitchen and household products. Things that solve real problems people have. We're especially interested in products that can be patented and are hard for competitors to copy. Generally, we want to either radically improve a product in its category (like 200% better) or invent a new category.

Job Purpose

Find temporary solutions to issues when essential to sustain safety, quality, and delivery.
Document each defect or issue as needed and issue trouble reports as necessary.
Provide feedback concerning quality issues to the appropriate and or responsible party.
Act as the liaison to Research & Development for all Departments.
Issue Manufacturing Instructions to temporarily fix design concerns.
Approve and assign application timing for Design Change points for HAM.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or related associates degree with experience; or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience: 0-6 years experience based on education, preferred at least 1 term as a Co-op for Honda or in a similar manufacturing environment.
Other Job-Specific Skills:
New Model development know how, knowledge of drawing release and application methods, know how to get the New Model job done, including key job processes and use of design evaluation tools.
Knowledge of Honda New Model Sales, Engineering, and Design/Development (SED) flow, how to mature car design.
Prioritization skills drives continuous improvement, good interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Working Conditions

Responsibilities
Discover customer needs and craft geospatial solutions that cater to the defense industry
Configure ArcGIS apps, tools, and information models for industry-specific uses
Provide input into product design aspects to assure our products are simple to use and provide a great experience for our customers
Work closely with customers, software development, business development, and professional services teams to define and develop solutions
Draft and review ArcGIS Solutions product briefs, presentations, and documentation
Design and author test cases for functionality, performance, scalability, and durability; execute both manual and automated tests, analyze test results, and report results
Continually assess product quality, release readiness, and maintain existing ArcGIS Solutions
Present and evangelize solutions to internal and external audiences
Requirements
2+ years of professional experience in the defense industry along with experience in applying ArcGIS to support specific industry workflows
Demonstrated ability to document and build GIS workflows
Creative problem solver and a team player
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree in geography or related field
Recommended Qualifications
Knowledge of incident, or emergency, analysis, and response workflows
Knowledge of defense and intelligence workflows
Programming experience with scripting languages, such as Python or Arcade
Experience with configuring web-based GIS applications
Experience with ArcGIS Pro and configuring web-based GIS applications
