Job Overview:
Wasserman is looking for an ambitious Graphic Designer who makes great layouts, loves clean type, and creates designs that actually hit. You should be curious and excited to work across sports, music, entertainment, and whatever else comes your way. Some days you'll support our creator team or talent representation and marketing departments, and other days you'll be building graphics for social channels, pitch decks, event booths, or a print piece.
What You'll Do:
You can take direction from written or spoken briefs and turn them into fresh visuals that look intentional and feel genuinely compelling. You have strong layout and typography skills, and you know how to build a visual system that stays consistent without slipping into boring or corporate- cringe. Bonus points if you enjoy motion and animation and want to push those skills further.
We work at a quick pace, so being comfortable in a fast environment is key. You thrive in a team setting but you're just as confident working independently when needed.

What You Will Do
Contribute to key research communications and publications including the multi-chapter
Research Catalogue
, executive-ready presentations, data-driven infographics, and concise visual summaries of grant-funded work.
Develop layout systems that scale across formats: from editorial reports and editable decks to web-ready graphics and toolkit documents.
Translate complex content into clear visual narratives by partnering closely with editors, analysts, and researchers across the Institute.
Manage ongoing design iterations, incorporating stakeholder feedback with attention to quality, consistency, and version control.
Support visual strategy for internal tools and campaigns, including presentations, web banners, newsletter assets and other deliverables tied to research rollouts
Produce motion or interactive graphics for digital channels and storytelling use cases
Adapt and evolve with the design landscape, including experimenting with generative AI tools and staying informed on how they can augment thoughtful design execution.
Your Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or similar field.
2-5 years of experience in graphic communications, presentation and/or editorial design
A portfolio of print and digital experience that communicates clarity, structure, and taste
Comfortable navigating long-form content, and have a sharp eye for layout, visual hierarchy, typography, and story structure
Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); After Effects and Figma are a plus.
Organized, proactive, and confident managing multiple timelines; able to version efficiently and incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders.
Bonus if you've worked with motion graphics, interactive storytelling, or data visualizations.
Highly organized, self-directed, and dependable across timelines and deliverables.
Someone who's curious about how AI is reshaping design workflows, and eager to experiment, apply, and adapt.

About the Role
Athleta is seeking a highly creative, strategic and trend-conscious Graphic Designer, Social Media to join our energetic, fast-paced Marketing Design team at Athleta. This person is someone who provides expertise and diligence through their craft while collaborating seamlessly with the rest of the Creative team and key cross-functional partners. In this role, the Graphic Designer, Social Media will be responsible for developing and designing all owned brand content for social media with a primary focus on Instagram content. This role requires flexibility and the ability to respond to constructive feedback quickly, with a growth mindset.
This position reports to the Director, Marketing Design.
What You'll Do
* Design and execute engaging, social-first brand content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook), including all static feed posts, stories, reels, videos, etc. that demonstrates an elevated, consistent brand expression
* Ensure all designed content delivers upon brief, is stylistically cohesive while staying innovative and trend-forward
* Create various, unique design concepts for internal reviews to ensure best-in-class content
* Partner, collaborate with, and take direction from the Marketing, Social, and Creative teams to develop compelling, social-first content that drives engagement
* Partner with the performance marketing team to design and optimize high-performing paid social acquisition assets, including short-form videos, animated overlays, and static variations informed by organic content performance
* Inspire and contribute to broader initiatives and seasonal conceptual work to infuse social-first tactics ensuring every moment feels authentic, noteworthy, and native to the platform
* Optimize, edit, retouch, prepare and deliver assets with accuracy and precision for multiple digital platforms
* Stay up to date with social media trends, design best practices, and emerging technologies.
* Present your work clearly and thoughtfully to teammates and cross-functional partners with a customer-first approach
Who You Are
* 5+ years professional digital design or content creation experience within a mid-size to large-size brand
* 2-3 brand handles of content creation and curation to show breadth of work within social media specifically
* BA/BFA in Graphic Design or Communication Design is a plus
* Ability to travel occasionally as needed for shoots
Necessary Skills
* Strong understanding of composition, visual tone, and pacing within photography, video, and motion
* Strong typographic sensibility with a keen eye for detail and consistency across a variety of visual assets
* Highly proficient in Figma and core Adobe CC programs including, but not limited to, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects or Premier Pro
* Highly proficient in short-form video editing and effects as well as motions graphics
* Understands the technical aspects of designing content for social (video optimization, formats, specs, etc.)
* A sharp aesthetic sensibility with a deep passion for culture, the internet and creation
* A strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while ensuring high standards of quality and on-time delivery
* A self-starter who is willing and able to build and continuously improve upon our creative standards and processes
* A track record of partnering with creative teams to help create owned social-first moments
* Open to giving and receiving feedback as part of a culture of growth and learning

* Experience working in Branding is a plus as the brand expression, guidelines, and systems are evolving

Salary Range: $76,400 - $95,500 USD
