Job Description Parts, Production & Estimating Specialist Independent NAPA AutoCare Facility - Award Winning, High Volume Shop A well-established, high-performing auto repair shop is seeking an experienced Parts, Production & Estimating Specialist to support our daily workflow, parts management, and estimating process. This is a non-customer-facing role that works closely with our Service Advisors, Technicians, and leadership team to keep the shop running smoothly. We are a fully digital shop using Autovitals for DVI and Protractor for shop management. The Production Specialist must possess the desire and ability to manage a variety of responsibilities such as: data entry and reporting tasks. As a member of the operations team, the Production Specialist will report to the Controller. This position is responsible for accurately recording the production and shipments of finished products including managing inventory usage and warehouse movements. The Production Specialist will be a key role in daily reporting requirements requiring Excel and analytical skills. Other duties to be performed as assigned. Creative work is performed within the FASTSIGNS Center sign production area that is fully equipped with top-of-the-line sign-making equipment. Creative work is performed within the FASTSIGNS Center sign production area that is fully equipped with top-of-the-line sign-making equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Read and understand door work orders sent to the door shop for building. Stay up-to-date and knowledgeable about door terminology and various components to ensure accuracy of parts and pieces pulled. Responsible for minor assembly and preparation of prefabricated doors and components utilizing saws, routers, pneumatic tools, and other small hand tools and power equipment. Based on the line, tasks may include (but are not limited to) the following: Cutting down heads and jambs, striking jambs, installing hinges, installing lites, cutting sills, applying weatherstripping, and nailing. Completing tasks in accordance with SOP's for the provided order paperwork and established quality expectations. Review order paperwork before beginning production to ensure accuracy of finished products. Review all products and orders before, during, and after production to ensure that quality standards are met before transferring products to the next stage of production and before packaging products for transportation. Utilize tablets and software for documentation. Palletize, package and wrap, and stage doors in preparation for shipment to customers. Understand that product packaging must be done per specifications to prevent damage during transportation. Work to maintain a safe and clean environment while achieving department productivity goals. Understand and follow OrePac safety rules and regulations. Work with team and door shop leadership to analyze and resolve challenges, develop and implement improvements, and maintain a safe work environment. REQUIRED SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations. Ability to adhere to all facets of safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated by OrePac's safety program. Ability to perform all essential responsibilities of the job in a safe manner. Ability to compute basic math problems to include addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to follow established quality standards. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Mechanical aptitude. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and the ability to read a tape measure. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). 1 or more years of experience using mills, saws, joiners, nail guns, or other carpentry tools (preferred, but not required).
