The Production Assistant supports the GM by ensuring materials necessary to perform a repair are available to technicians, including parts, participating in final repair plan meetings and morning and afternoon huddles to note any issues. Ensures parts are on track and dashboards are current.
Key Job Responsibilities
Ensures consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
Oversees major disassembly for repair planning - movement of damaged vehicles to the disassembly area, schedule use of measuring equipment as necessary, communicate availability to damage writer, and supervise removal of vehicle to production staging area.
Parts oversight - Proactively assures that once the original parts order is placed via EPO or other means and that when received parts are properly received, verified, stored, and dispatched to the appropriate technician completely and accurately exactly when it is needed. Perform the same for all supplemental parts. Assure that all unused parts are returned for credit and that the estimator and or CSR are informed.
Proactive communication - Keeps both the tech and the GM constantly in the loop with regard to any changes or variances from the expected repair plans and completions.
Resource utilization - Facilitates the optimum use of the collision center and equipment through preventative maintenance, prompt movement of vehicles in and out of the collision center and ensure equipment is operating properly and maintained. Assure that all equipment is ready for use and that all stalls and floor space is available for vehicles currently active in production.
Vehicle movement - Proactively moves vehicles into production when dispatched, from department to department when each step is completed, and out of production when complete or whenever there is a halt to production on that vehicle for more than 2 hours.
Coordination of sublet functions - Schedules and facilitates the performance of sublet functions including communication with the techs and front office regarding scheduling, the movement of the vehicle to the appropriate space of sublet work to be performed, and the return of the vehicle to production.
Metal department / paint department communication - Facilitates communication between the metal department with regard to the scheduled movement of vehicles to the paint department for prep work and vehicles coming back to the metal department for additional assembly or trim out.
Preventative equipment maintenance - Ensures that a preventative maintenance schedule is followed for all equipment and collision center owned tools to eliminate downtime and to assure that all portable tools and equipment are stored in the designated space. Equipment to be maintained will include paint booth and filters, air drying system, air compressor, frame and measuring systems, welders, lifts and floor jacks, battery charges, etc.
Maintenance of housekeeping - Assures that all stalls are routinely cleared of damaged parts and rubbish.
Direction of porters and detailers - Routinely directs porters and detail personnel to perform vehicle movement and timely detailing for completed vehicles.
Education and/or Experience Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Proven experience in a collision repair environment or similar role
Up to 2 years Experience
Required Skills/Abilities
Basic knowledge of the repair process

GENERAL STATEMENT:

1. Follow daily routing directions and avoid going off route without exception, unless directed by the Transportation

3. Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of assigned truck. Assist in the safe loading or unloading of other

Donations must be handled properly to ensure they return damage free to their destination.
5. Train, instruct and supervise truck helper in their WTA, keeping in mind that helper is in a rehabilitation program
and that good personal and professional work habits are taught by example, as well as by instruction.
6. Responsible for Bag & Tag as instructed by Supervisor and procedure.
7. All pre and post checks must be completed daily. Any exceptions found during the pre-check inspection must be
reviewed by the Transportation Supervisor prior to operating the vehicle. Any post-check exceptions must be
reviewed with the Transportation Supervisor prior to clocking out for the day. All equipment on the truck must be
in working order and properly secured for transport.
8. As a representative of The Salvation Army, ensure that all customers are treated courteously and with good customer
service. Immediately report all donor problems and concerns that occur during donation pick-ups to supervisor,
through dispatch.
9. Promptly report to immediate supervisor all accidents involving truck, personal injury or property damage.
10. Abide by all DOT regulations and state and local laws while maintaining a safe driving record. Attend all driver
safety meetings as required.
11. Report all infractions of safety procedures to the Transportation Supervisor.
12. Adhere to all meal and rest breaks per state law and company policy.
13. Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, from time to time, by the Transportation Supervisor, Director
of Production or their designated representatives.

The Production Coordinator is responsible for executing the daily operational needs of the Production Department, including fulfillment of inventory orders, loading and unloading of trucks, maintaining accuracy of web-based inventory system, as well as assisting onsite production staff as needed.

Update online warehouse inventory system with accurate and up-to-date quantities, photos and descriptions, etc.
Implement real-time inventory check-in system; unload all returning inventory from truck and check it into software system to assure real time accuracy.
Warehouse & Inventory
Assist in all aspects of inventory process including:
Proactively requesting inventory orders from Account Managers
Fulfilling orders and notifying requester and offering possible solutions if there is a problem with requested inventory
Staging inventory with completed requested inventory list
Managing process of transferring inventory ownership from Warehouse to Production Staff
Receiving and checking in returning inventory and updating web-based system
Cleaning and restocking of inventory
Must possess knowledge and understanding of all inventory items and how they work. Responsible for ensuring Production Staff know how inventory works before inventory goes out on site. Production Staff must be able to show AM or contact on site how items work.
Ensure continuous care and maintenance of all inventory; chair repair, touch up painting, repairing broken items, etc. If needed, request labor assistance to ensure no loss of service.
Assist with continuously tracking inventory usage with a focus on future needs; trending décor, relevancy in the design world and freshness, etc.
In conjunction with Design Department and under the direction of Production Manager, oversee the sale or donation of surplus inventory. Manage postings on Craigslist or other, oversee donations to charitable organizations and tracking for PR and tax deduction purposes, etc.
On-site Event Production
Assist the on-site Production Associate as needed; may include set up and break down of events during busy season.
