Assistant Enrichment Coordinator
Job Summary: The Assistant Enrichment Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of Bethesda's community members by supporting the planning and execution of activities and events within the Enrichment Center. This position collaborates closely with the Enrichment Coordinator and serves as a key contributor to creating engaging opportunities for internal residents, fostering community connections, and ensuring exceptional customer service in coffee and bistro offerings.
Job Relationships:
A. Reports to: Enrichment Coordinator
B. Interrelationships with: Culinary Directors, Activity and Volunteer Director, Scheduling Coordinators, Maintenance and Housekeeping
C. Supervisory responsibilities (or internal contacts): Collaborates with Café team
D. External Contacts: Vendors, suppliers, service providers, community members
Hours of Work: 64-80 hours per period, some flexible hours to oversee different shifts. No scheduled weekends but occasional support on weekends is expected.

Essential Requirements of Work: (Minimum qualifications necessary to function at full productivity)
A. Education and Training:
a. ServSafe Certification
b. High school diploma
B. Experience:
a. Experience working in aging services
b. Experience in the food or café industry
c. Experience in assisting with recreation planning and implementation
C. Personal:
a. Proficient in spoken English
b. Enthusiastic about personal and leadership growth, with a focus on developing knowledge in café operations, recreation, coffee, food, and staff development
c. Ability to assess needs and implement changes based on objective criteria
d. Highly effective communication skills
D. Job Knowledge (Specific):
a. Comprehensive understanding of food safety
b. Understanding of inventory controls
c. Awareness of federal and state regulations
d. Familiarity with recreation planning
Physical Demands of the Job:
Sits, stoops, bends, and walks intermittently during the workday
Lifts up to 50 pounds occasionally

Principle Job Responsibilities:
Support in coordinating and implementing engaging activities and events for the Bethesda community.
Assist in creating monthly calendars for activities hosted within the Enrichment Center
Collaborate with the Recreation department to identify residents' interests
Assist in engaging community partners to bring external events into the Enrichment Center
Collaborate with residents, resident family members, and friends to schedule reservations and meet their needs
Provide staffing support for scheduled activities
Contribute to the growth of resident groups and clubs.
Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, motivating, and supervising staff.
a. Participate in interviews and hiring processes in conjunction with the HR department
b. Support staff in resolving issues with customers and delivering excellent customer service
c. Contribute to on-the-job training on processes, customer service, and recreation implementation
d. Collaborate with scheduling coordinators to ensure adequate staffing
e. Assist in addressing call-ins, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills
f. Participate in performance appraisals and corrective actions as necessary
g. Promote a positive attitude and employ strategies to motivate team members
Support in ordering, inventory management, and finances.
Support in ordering merchandise for the Gift Shop
Assist in overseeing inventory
Contribute to menu development and adjustments as needed
Assist in managing a system for receiving payments from customers
Assist in ensuring the café provides quality beverages, adhering to all recipe and presentation standards, maintaining compliance with Minnesota State Department of Health regulations, and department policies and procedures.
Contribute to the direction of the receipt, storage, and issue of food products
Support in maintaining records to meet department policies and procedures
Stay informed about regulations and department policies and procedures, ensuring daily implementation
