The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality and quantity standards. Brings forth any concerns to the Plant Manager Control the cooling water for the casting line. Turn on the cool water when casting starts. Turn off the cooling water when casting stop. Quality Product discoloration (can happen with other materials) Supervisor will report to plant manager Report to supervisor immediately if there is any discoloration on the product Responsible for sampling 0 testing the alloy to ensure it is meeting product specifications every 30 min or as required Identifies the casting molds that need to be coated and assigns to Laborer Ensures all products are uniform, level, stacked properly, banded properly Inspects that products finished goods meet the specs required by the customer. If it does not meet the requirements, must notify the Plant Manager and then has to go back to furnace. Trains new employees on proper procedures an ensures effectiveness. Records data and stack weight Ensure proper housekeeping by all team members Casting line clean Keep all areas stairways, aisles and deck surfaces clear REQUIREMENTS Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery. Weighs out ingredients as listed using scales with printers and mixes ingredients, using appropriate mixing method, carefully and thoroughly. Follows batch instructions on BPR or deviation to meet desired specification via use of reactors, blenders, mixers, fitzmill, metal detector, sifter, roller compactor, rotary press, oscillating granulator, tote tumbler, lift truck, hand jack and other equipment. Notifies supervisor, lead or R&D of any concerns with instructions on BPR or deviation. Records all item and lot number information on production ticket. Documents and updates mix tickets and log book, ensuring that all information is written truthfully and legibly. Enters all information into computer system for tracking and accountability purposes, ensuring that all information is correct. Lifts and places raw materials into appropriate tote or tank equipment or mixers via automatic or manual lifting. Properly labels bulk containers, mixes etc. Keeps Quality Control and Research & Development departments informed, to ensure correct amounts of raw materials are used and to recommend improvements to existing products. Cleaning forms after product is removed using a scraper, steel wool, shovels, sanders, solvents, etc. Setting up forms for pouring, including cutting and placing rebar, pulling or “stressing” rebar strand, tying mesh, and installing imbeds (including plates, vectors and core walls) and setting side rails. Pouring concrete, including placing, raking, and shoveling concrete. Finishing concrete using various tools/methods such as smooth float, steel trowel, brooming, raking and power trowels to achieve a desired finish. Sandblasting Duties Locating products stored in the Yard that have been approved for sandblasting. Sandblasting concrete surfaces according to the specifications of approved designs. Follows instructions, guidelines and procedures timely and accurately. Looks for ways to improve processes, reduce errors and increase efficiencies. Performing plant cleanup/housekeeping including putting away tools, sweeping debris and cleaning cluttered areas. Adhering to safety standards. Operating and maintaining man-lift, and other machinery including overhead cranes Driving yard vehicles, including truck, trailer, tractor and/or Tucker/Redimix truck on company grounds.
