Key Accountabilities
Principal Accountabilities:
* Primary function of production employees is within barge unloading and vessel loading processes, this entails manual labor, and outdoors work
* Train and operate applicable equipment associated with the laborer process: including skid steer tractor (bobcat), forklift and sweeper.
* Perform housekeeping duties in a designated area on site: including sweeping and shoveling products and grain dust into mobile equipment.
* Perform assigned duties with the maintenance department: including helper, fire watches and confined space attendant.
* Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere with a high regard for environmental impact of the operation.
* Understand and adhere to state and federal Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations as related to plant safety. Follow all Cargill safety rules and regulations.

JOB SUMMARY

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Integrity/Reliability
Operates units via the use of Distributed Control System (DCS)
Performs routine monitoring of the unit while optimizing unit performance, investigating any HSE critical alarms, and adhering to the operating envelope of the unit
Prioritizes maintenance activities on nights and weekends and communicates issues to management
Monitors environmental concerns and records issues and unit upsets (e.g., flaring, spills, etc.)
Health, Safety & Environmental
Maintains accountability for the HSE performance of their shift/region and promotes safety and operational integrity within the shift team
Initiates the appropriate investigation and troubleshooting following an incident
Ensures that the site operates within and complies with current environmental legislation
Maintains accurate console documentation such as log books, shift summaries, etc.
Reviews alarm status, bulb function check, instrument zero, SCD bypasses, etc.
People
Supervises the Operations personnel on assigned units
Sets shift expectations for operators and lead operators on his/her unit
Assists in setting schedules for hourly personnel
Assists in the selection and promotion of wage personnel
Assists in the planning of overall people development within operations
Develops and supports training initiatives for hourly personnel
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in refining/petrochemical facility required
5+ years of console operator/process team lead experience is preferred
Available to work 12-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, and some holidays)
Familiarity with industry process safety and environment regulations, work practices, and compliance strategies as well as knowledge of basic refinery processes, reliability principles, refining economics, and basic budgeting and scheduling required
Knowledge of Distributed Control System (DCS) is preferred
Ability to interpret lab results and adjust unit operation accordingly required
Strong troubleshooting, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills required

JOB SUMMARY
The Production Team Lead (PTL) is responsible for running the day-to-day operation of his/her units using established procedures and standards, ensuring that the units operate at their optimum level of efficiency and effectiveness. He/she must ensure that the unit remains within the design operating envelope at all times in a way that meets the Company's health, safety, and environmental objectives (HSE).
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Integrity/Reliability
Operates units via the use of Distributed Control System (DCS)
Performs routine monitoring of the unit while optimizing unit performance, investigating any HSE critical alarms, and adhering to the operating envelope of the unit
Prioritizes maintenance activities on nights and weekends and communicates issues to management
Monitors environmental concerns and records issues and unit upsets (e.g., flaring, spills, etc.)
Health, Safety & Environmental
Maintains accountability for the HSE performance of their shift/region and promotes safety and operational integrity within the shift team
Initiates the appropriate investigation and troubleshooting following an incident
Ensures that the site operates within and complies with current environmental legislation
Maintains accurate console documentation such as log books, shift summaries, etc.
Reviews alarm status, bulb function check, instrument zero, SCD bypasses, etc.
People
Supervises the Operations personnel on assigned units
Sets shift expectations for operators and lead operators on his/her unit
Assists in setting schedules for hourly personnel
Assists in the selection and promotion of wage personnel
Assists in the planning of overall people development within operations
Develops and supports training initiatives for hourly personnel
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in refining/petrochemical facility required
5+ years of console operator/process team lead experience is preferred
Available to work 12-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, and some holidays)
Familiarity with industry process safety and environment regulations, work practices, and compliance strategies as well as knowledge of basic refinery processes, reliability principles, refining economics, and basic budgeting and scheduling required
Knowledge of Distributed Control System (DCS) is preferred
Ability to interpret lab results and adjust unit operation accordingly required
Strong troubleshooting, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills required

Atalco Gramercy Operations is the leading producer of Alumina in the United States. Our Gramercy refinery produces 1.2 million tons a year of smelter grade alumina (SGA) for the production of aluminum as well as chemical grade alumina (CGA) which is used in a wide array of industrial applications.
We are currently seeking a Shift Production Crew Manager for our Gramercy, LA refinery.
Job Summary/Objective
With instruction from the Unit Manager, this position will be responsible for directing the activities of hourly operators in their assigned segment of the manufacturing process. This position will also ensure that productivity and quality standards are achieved in a safe and cost-effective manner.
Essential Functions:
Using weekly manufacturing schedules and daily priorities, assigns tasks and assignments to hourly manufacturing operators. Monitors work to ensure proper completion.
Trains hourly operators to safely perform any assigned task.
Monitors work to ensure safe work habits are engaged 100% of the time.
Investigates incidents, identifies unsafe aspects, participates in development of corrective actions, and enforces company policies and procedures.
Monitors, adjusts, and/or identifies need for repair of equipment and/or processes in assigned segment of the manufacturing process.
Completes production documentation.
Verifies that hourly time records reflect the work performed.
This is a shift position.
Education/Training Requirements:
High school diploma/GED, plus work experience in a manufacturing environment required.
At least 3-5 years of experience as a manufacturing supervisor preferred.
College and/or trade school preferred.
