Responsible for providing: The Machine Operator I will have responsibility of either 330 Ferry 11/12 or 220 Ferry platform machines. They are responsible for the safety, efficiency, quality, and overall productivity of the machine, as well as cooling jigs, molds, and housekeeping in and around the machine. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Ensures that the team has all the required safety equipment. Ensures all the equipment, molds, machine and hoist are working properly, and reports any issues or problems right away. Follows a schedule and enters data into the Information System (Prism) Sets up and starts up molds as required. Ensures that machines are producing quality parts according to required standards. Maintains a good cycle rating as outlined by company cycle standards. Reports any deviations related to machine functions to lead to be corrected by Maintenance Mechanic. Ensures molds are prepped in advance to help ensure efficient changeover. Fills up mold P.M. sheets and places with molds. Performs all tasks associated with the scheduled mold-change, including changes for the purpose of testing new or recently worked molds. Sets Rotation and cycle time on machine computer; orders or brings over cooling jigs; fills out pm sheet on returning mold, and also makes sure cooling jigs are returned to their location. Employees in this role will receive a plastic drum weighing up to 20 lbs with their arms and upper body and transfer it to a worktable placed across from the production machine. Employees will then utilize a knife/blade and hammer to remove excess plastic from top and bottom of container. Employee must be able to properly and safely maneuver the drum as it is received, turned on its sides, picked up and transferred to a pallet. Drums can measure 3.5 feet in length and require upper body mobility to receive, transfer, turn, and stack containers safely and without injury. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Thrift Store Manager, the Thrift Store Floor Production Worker (Part-Time) is responsible for assisting the production crew in cleaning, prep, and tagging merchandise such as bric-a-brac, books, electronics, shoes, accessories, household items, etc. CORE WORK PRINCIPLE: Colossians 3:23 is the foundation of URM's standard for employment, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.” The goal for each employee is to enrich and sustain a humble heart attitude; to enrich and sustain a mindset of serving others, treating them with kindness and truth; and to enrich and sustain a zealous desire for achieving work objectives without any ulterior motives or agendas. THRIFT STORE FLOOR PRODUCTION WORKER (PART-TIME) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Cleans, tags, and packs merchandise for pricing. Determines which items are perishable and which are recyclable and discards unsellable items. Assists other departments/positions, as needed. Sets the pace for sorting. Records production numbers daily. (i.e., carts, units, etc.) Communicates regularly with management about store issues. Actively engages customers on floor sales to increase donations and merchandise sales. Ensures monthly revenue goals are met. Provides excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers and donors; and responds to customer inquiries/complaints in a timely manner. Ensures store and displays are maintained, clean, and attractive. Maintains safety including all Health and Security policies and procedures. THRIFT STORE FLOOR PRODUCTION WORKER (PART-TIME) PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires manual dexterity for regular repetitive finger motion such as frequent reaching, pulling, pushing and lifting objects and operating equipment. Requires manual ability to operate a pallet jack. May be exposed to handling hazardous materials such as broken glass. THRIFT STORE FLOOR PRODUCTION WORKER (PART-TIME) WORK ENVIRONMENT: In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated. This position works predominantly indoors in a store, warehouse, or dock environment all of which are high traffic settings involving people, equipment and/or machinery. May be exposed to dust in the performance of certain duties. Noise levels are considered moderate to high. Requires regular standing, walking, sitting, crouching, stooping, speaking, hearing, and seeing. May be exposed to extreme temperatures both hot and cold (variable weather). Requirements: THRIFT STORE FLOOR PRODUCTION WORKER (PART-TIME) EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent, required. Thrift store, warehouse, assembly line or restaurant experience, a plus. THRIFT STORE FLOOR PRODUCTION WORKER (PART-TIME) KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES: Fluency in Spanish, both verbal and written, a plus. Ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic. Perform in a fast-paced environment and possess strong organizational skills. Ability to determine the value of donations. Must exhibit strong customer service skills. Clear communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent time management skills and detail oriented. Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment. Must be an effective team member. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
