The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality and quantity standards. Responsible for contacting Maintenance and the Plant Manager if there are any equipment issues, breakdowns, power outages and safety concerns with the equipment and/or line. Understand the inline process and flow and how to speed it up and slow it down. Responsible for all material and finished product specifications for the finished product. Brings forth any concerns to the Plant Manager Control the cooling water for the casting line. Turn on the cool water when casting starts. Turn off the cooling water when casting stop. Quality Product discoloration (can happen with other materials) Supervisor will report to plant manager Report to supervisor immediately if there is any discoloration on the product Responsible for sampling 0 testing the alloy to ensure it is meeting product specifications every 30 min or as required Identifies the casting molds that need to be coated and assigns to Laborer Ensures all products are uniform, level, stacked properly, banded properly Inspects that products finished goods meet the specs required by the customer. If it does not meet the requirements, must notify the Plant Manager and then has to go back to furnace. Trains new employees on proper procedures an ensures effectiveness. Records data and stack weight Ensure proper housekeeping by all team members Casting line clean Keep all areas stairways, aisles and deck surfaces clear REQUIREMENTS Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery. Excellent supervisory and leadership skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software to complete reports and logs.
