POSITION: Water Production Operator I PAY RATE: $26.34 LOCATION: San Bernardino County, CA The Water Production Operator I is the entry-level classification within the Water Production series. Incumbents within this classification also perform work of a manual nature, which requires a high degree of mental and physical dexterity. Incumbents within this classification perform similar duties and responsibilities to those of the Water Production Operator II; however, they do so under close supervision and direction progressing to general direction as experience is gained. Typically, incumbents within this classification can reasonably expect to progress to Water Production Operator II after two years of performing assigned duties and have the necessary certification and license. Collect samples from water distribution source(s) and facilities; analyze sample data and produce standard reports on a monthly and annual basis. Assist with production of consumer confidence reports as required by Federal or State statutes. Monitors, operates, and maintains automatic chlorinators and performs water quality sampling to ensure safe, clean, and potable water for customers. Inspects, services, and maintains electrical, radio, telemetry, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Assist in the operation and maintenance of construction equipment and/or machinery including pumping equipment, well and boosters. Check chlorine system; take water samples throughout system on an as needed basis and perform special well samplings as needed; prepare water samples for testing and processing. Monitor and scan telemetry system for reservoir and well activity and status. Assist in maintaining the upkeep to well sites, booster stations, pressure reducing valve (PRV) stations on a regular basis. Maintain records of installations and repairs of treatment equipment. Assist pipefitting and fabrication work as necessary. Effectively use and maintain field test kits and equipment. Assist in maintaining accurate records. Ability to interpret and apply codes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Maintain prompt and regular attendance. Perform other related duties as required. Education and Experience Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. One (1) year of experience working in water distribution and/or treatment plant operations involving potable water production, treatment, storage, or a related field. The incumbent may be required to work outside the traditional work schedule. May be subject to call out/call back or stand-by scheduling. Physical Tasks and Environmental Conditions: The essential Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 50 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions including wet, hot, and cold. The incumbent may use hazardous materials including cleaning and lubricating chemicals, which may expose the employee to fumes, dust and air contaminants. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to climb ladders, use power and noise producing tools and equipment, drive motorized vehicles and heavy equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruptions. Responsible for providing: The Machine Operator I will be responsible for either 330 Ferry 11/12 or 220 Ferry platform machines. They are responsible for the safety, efficiency, quality, and overall productivity of the machine, as well as cooling jigs, molds, and housekeeping in and around the machine. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Ensures that the team has all the required safety equipment. Ensures all the equipment, molds, machine and hoist are working properly, and reports any issues or problems right away. Follows a schedule and enters data into the Information System (Prism) Sets up and starts up molds as required. Ensures that machines are producing quality parts according to required standards. Maintains a good cycle rating as outlined by company cycle standards. Reports any deviations related to machine functions to lead to be corrected by Maintenance Mechanic. Ensures molds are prepped in advance to help ensure efficient changeover. Fills up mold P.M. sheets and places with molds. Performs all tasks associated with the scheduled mold change, including changes for the purpose of testing new or recently worked molds. Sets Rotation and cycle time on machine computer; orders or brings over cooling jigs; fills out pm sheet on returning mold, and also makes sure cooling jigs are returned to their location. Coordinates mold changes to minimize downtime by bringing over or having brought over mold extensions, tools, supplies prior to starting mold change. The post-production and Operations team at IMAX is responsible for creating and distributing all iterations of an IMAX release to our global theatre network. We are looking for a self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced, highly detail oriented, collaborative team environment. What You'll Do: * Partner with our Quality Assurance team to check multiple versions of our IMAX titles * Learn basic digital cinema mastering tools and procedures * Collaborate with our internal Distribution and Studio partners to establish timelines and deliverables * Learn basic workflows of 70mm print distribution * Help out with fulfillment of our DCPs to our network as well as projector parts What You'll Need: * Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Film Studies or Production, Technology or Coding, or Communications * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required * Ability to take direction, fulfill responsibilities under pressure, and adhere to strict deadlines with limited direct supervision Nice to Have: * Demonstrated customer service orientation desired, with an approachable and personable outlook * Previous internship/co-op experience * Passion for IMAX!
