Job Description
The Supervisor Production directs and coordinates activities concerned with all production operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. The Production Supervisor provides leadership/direction to Production Operators and ensures staffing and production schedules are adhered to. Completes documentation and carries out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training, along with company pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), USDA Guidelines, and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP's).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety:
Perform all duties within OSHA and company safety standards; LOTO, wear PPE and maintain safety equipment.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Immediately report all incidents and deficiencies to management; complete incident investigations.
Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.
Monitor work environment for general food safety hazards such as condensation monitoring, etc.
Leadership
Build and support a culture at the plant which values Personnel Safety and Food Safety.

Enforce all safety rules and company policies; provide appropriate interpretation of company policies and safety policies for team members.
Ensure proper staffing is maintained, including interviewing, and hiring new team members.
Implement and monitor training for new hires & continuing training of current team members.
Maintain attendance records, counsel Team Members with poor attendance, & follow up with coaching/discipline as appropriate.
Appraise work performance: conduct appropriate reviews for Team Members; give coaching/discipline as appropriate in a consistent and timely manner.
Review, correct, and approve timekeeping tool to ensure Team Members are paid correctly each pay-period.
General
Coordinate and perform all functions related to the operations of assigned area procedures, and specifications.
Recommend methods to improve manufacturing processes including equipment performance to ensure product quality and increase efficiencies.
Implement and record Smokehouse's scheduled preventive maintenance.
Understanding of cook yields and work standards for the Smokehouse. Follow up, maintenance and analyzation of cook yields and work standards for the Smokehouse
Suggest and implement changes in processes and procedures to increase efficiencies and product quality.
Implement and monitor weekly requisitions for daily supplies, i.e., gloves, aprons, , etc.
Identify, control, and follow up on losses incurred due to substandard supplies, i.e., time and materials.
Complete and review all HACCP, and SSOP requirements and paperwork. This includes but not limited to Pre-Operational Inspection, Operational Inspections, Pre-Shipment Review, and Corrective Actions.
Monitor the lot-tracking program and ensure its accuracy. This includes Proper Lot # documentation, Sequence assigning, and corrections.
Verify work and storage areas are maintained safe, clean, and organized.
Prevent and minimize rework and inedible.
Verify proper storage and use of all cooler space.
Compile, store, and retrieve production data. (Lot Tracking, and Smokehouse data)
Conduct accurate weekly, period end, and year-end departmental inventories as required by the company.
Ability to perform activities of Team Members supervised.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Superior accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems
Regular attendance is essential.

Additional Information
The pay range for this role is
$63,032 - $86,669
(Annual). Actual wage will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience. Base pay is just one component of Jack Link's Total Rewards package for Team Members. Other rewards may include annual incentive and program-specific awards. Jack Link's provides a variety of benefits to eligible Team Members, including medical, dental and vision benefits, life and disability insurance, 401k participation, paid holidays, and paid time off.

Set metal detectors and other inspection systems and the production line
Manual inspection of labeling to ensure that the correct data is on each label and the correct label is used
Perform test runs of new material
Manual inspection of packaging material on finished roll goods
Monitor and evaluate initial production runs of new materials
Working with test equipment (ie equipment for testing tensile strength)
Entering information on all tasks into MES/ERP systems
Ensure that any out of specification findings are properly documented and given to the QA Specialist
Ensure that the required number of samples are received each shift for testing
Communicate with Quality Assurance Specialist regarding all testing processes, issues, and results
Ensure that the QMS conforms to ISO 9001:2015
Ensure processes are delivering intended outcomes
Report to Top Management on the performance of the QMS; on opportunities for improvement; on change requirements; on innovations
Ensure the promotion of customer focus

* Must be able to accurately read and interpret plant order information (POF), and complete required forms accurately and in a timely manner.
* Understands and follows all quality rules and procedures and performs required quality checks on product being produced.
* Understands and follows all SQF policies and procedures including, but not limited to, procedures for food safety, housekeeping, personal hygiene, and auditing.
* Understands machine capabilities, in order, to determine if machine can produce product specified on the POF and ensures that all materials and parts needed for production run are available.
* Performs set up of machine for production run as specified on the POF form and other set up documentation.
* Ensures that machine speed and productivity is maintained adjusting as needed.
* Organizes Assistant Operators and Inspectors for optimal efficiency. Coaching other employees on production, quality and safety.
* Performs oil and grease procedures, replaces parts, and troubleshoots machine issues and performs minor equipment repairs as needed.
* Ability to use hand truck, drum dolly and electric pallet jack
* Performs housekeeping duties in work area, including sweeping, mopping, picking up and disposing of trash.
* May be required to operate forklift truck.
* Ability to read a tape measure.
* Must possess basic math skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to use a computer and to use and understand computer software.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor or Manager.

* Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
* Must be able to lift to 80 pounds.
* Previous machine operator experience, preferred
* Must be able to work any day and any shift, including weekends and overnight shifts
* Must be able to work overtime as needed

General Job Requirements/Experience/Background:
Safely and efficiently operate manufacturing equipment or provide operators with raw materials and services to produce quality products in support of business goals and objectives
Monitor high tech equipment making adjustments as appropriate to ensure quality product and efficient operation
Troubleshoot issues and make appropriate adjustments and repairs working with maintenance as necessary
Ensure equipment and work areas are clean and follow 5S standards
Ensure product quality; quickly identify non-compliance performance and take appropriate measures to correct
Record and document data in support of monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs)
Work cooperatively with others in the best interests of achieving business goals and objectives; demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
