The Material Planner Sr will report to the Material Planning Manager in a strategic, high-growth, change-oriented, dynamic work environment. You will apply your knowledge of material planning best practices along with a system driven approach to ensuring that the right material is delivered to the right place, at the right time. While adopting the BAE CMS One Team philosophy, you will interface with internal customers and collaborate cross functionally to drive problem resolution and process changes to improve material on time delivery to the floor.
Other responsibilities include:
Train and mentor new hires independently to ensure a high level of proficiency, performance, and development Track material shortages for job orders, kitting, sub-assemblies based on requirements Plan and execute production schedules to ensure a controlled flow of conforming material to meet delivery requirements Balance current and future production plans with manufacturing and program to ensure completion of customer requirements Establish, monitor, and verify Oracle ASCP system parameters, including buffers, inventory levels by performing audits of line side material Review, action, and resolve material exception messages in advance of production impact

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Position Description:

Develops and/or reviews work packages including time, material, and labor estimates, written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and/or safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance, or modification of work activities within a given facility or area.

Specific planning duties may be related to mechanical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological equipment, policies, and procedures and may also include resolving work restraints and bringing work packages to final closure.

North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Production Control Planner - I to join our team. The ideal candidate will plan, organize, and execute production schedules for assigned product lines to achieve maximum customer satisfaction levels and "on-time" shipments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Your Priorities

+ Develops and maintains master schedules and order releases required to support customer requirements for assigned product lines.

+ Reviews machine capacity, maintenance requirements, and schedules to determine if production plans for assigned product lines are achievable.

+ Monitors status of purchase parts and communicates any changes to purchasing department.

+ Works with Purchasing to secure purchase parts needed to meet production schedules.

+ Provides shipping dates for short lead orders based on material availability and production capacity.

+ Determines and maintains required Kanban card levels within the production system to meet production schedules and inventory targets.

Requirements

Your Background

High School Diploma or GED, plus 2 to 4 years of progressive manufacturing experience.

Associate's Degree in Business or a related discipline, Experience with computerized material requirements planning, and Access and Crystal Reports skills are preferred.
