Production forklift operator job description

This is a 3rd Shift job opening, 11:00pm-7:30am

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Reads product processing form or follows verbal instructions to move the correct materials to the appropriate locations and machines.

• Loads materials into vehicles and installs required strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent product from shifting or becoming damaged in transit.

• Enters lot tracking data into computer.

• Compares product identification information and counts against daily pull sheets.

• Prints labels and affixes shipping and special labels on cartons as required by customer.

• Records shortages.

• Assembles customer orders on pallet to meet customer needs.

• Drives a variety of forklift trucks to move and store cartons on racks in warehouse.

• Verifies and examines shipments for accuracy using hand-held scanner.

• Moves product in and out of warehouse using first-in-first-out (FIFO) method.

• Complies with safety and quality rules and policies.

• Support department efforts to maintain a clean work area, machines, and equipment.

• Assist machine operators as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-2+ years’ experience driving different types of forklifts required

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment

• Knowledge and basic computer operation ability

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure and compute ratios and percentages

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

• Ability to complete routine production and quality reports

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

• Understanding and compliance with safety rules and regulations

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

As a Production Worker you will bear responsibility for the manufacturing of Coca-Cola products, to include but not limited to material handling, shipping and receiving, filling packaging machines, loading/unloading products etc.


Job Related Duties/Responsibilities


Responsible for operating Filler/Packaging/Box-forming/Palletizing, Forklift and all other production/manufacturing equipment. Supply line with raw materials as needed. Operate a gas-powered forklift Load/Unload packaged goods onto trailers. Ability to hand stack cases of product weighing up to 35 pounds repetitively up to 8 hours. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (sometimes) in extreme temperature. Must offer flexible/open availability Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment Demonstrate good attendance record Ability to move materials weighing 50 pounds for distances of ten feet or more



Education Requirements


High School Diploma or GED equivalent Basic Math Skills (+, - , x, ÷) Read, write, and speak English



Desired Experience


Minimum 2 years related work environment/experience (or transferrable skills) preferred Work in light industrial, manufacturing plant or warehouse preferred



Job Location & Working Conditions


Work is performed in all areas of a production facility, including off-site warehouses. Work is of a repetitive nature and requires exposure to extreme temperatures, moderate noise levels, moving equipment, wetness, chemicals, fumes, dust, and vibrations.

The production line operator/lab operator is responsible for maintaining the quality standards of soap set by KT Soap products.

* Operate equipment with the use of software, monitor key process equipment for functionality including pumps, valves, temperature gauges, and steam supply for proper function.
* Conduct quality and analytical testing.
* Observe and report any equipment issues.
* Properly fill out and maintain production paperwork.
* Set up and prepare equipment for production.

Employee Requirements
The production line operator must be able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team. The person in this position must be reliable and dependable. Production plants run on a tight schedule. Being tardy or absent without notice means that the rest of the team will have to work harder and leads to a loss of productivity. Must be able to multitask, conduct quality and analytical testing on soap. Must have an understanding of machine safety and manufacturing.

Physical Requirements
The production line operator must be reasonably fit, healthy and must display a good standard of personal hygiene. The line operator must stand/walk for a reasonable time. Daily responsibilities require working on elevated surfaces, climbing stairs, lifting up to 60 pounds, and walking underneath equipment.
