    The Production Supervisor at the 750 facility is responsible for leading daily pressroom operations with a focus on safety, quality, performance, and people development. This role ensures that PPC's flexographic pressroom operates efficiently and produces high-quality printed materials that meet customer expectations and company standards. The Supervisor plays a critical role in advancing PPC's strategic goals of improving Fully Productive Time (FPT), reducing waste, and driving operational excellence through strong floor leadership. This position is accountable for coordinating all pressroom activities on the assigned shift, ensuring that teams operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with work instructions, job tickets, and color/registration specifications. Key Responsibilities Ensure a safe and compliant work environment for all team members; enforce all PPE, lockout/tagout, and food safety policies. Lead daily shift huddles reviewing FPT performance, footage targets, safety, and quality metrics. Provide consistent direction and coaching to Operators, Press Assistants, and Operations Leads to meet daily production goals. Monitor all setup, makeready, and run processes for accuracy, waste, and uptime; escalate issues quickly to support departments. Ensure all operators follow documented work instructions, centerlines, and job tickets prior to production start. Review and sign off on all first-off approvals and quality checkpoints (“second approval process”). Partner with scheduling and staging to maintain readiness and improve flow between press, lamination, and slitting. Conduct performance evaluations, corrective actions, and attendance tracking in partnership with HR. Support a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging Lean and 6S tools to reduce downtime and improve consistency. Train, mentor, and develop cross-functional talent for future growth opportunities within PPC. Serve as Acting Production Manager when management is offsite or unavailable. Required Experience and Skills 10+ years of flexographic printing experience (wide or mid-web preferred). 3-5 years of production supervision or shift leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of FPT, setup reduction (SMED), and lean manufacturing principles. Demonstrated ability to manage, train, and develop diverse production teams. Excellent decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills under pressure. Working knowledge of manufacturing ERP systems and Microsoft Office. Mechanically inclined with solid press troubleshooting and setup experience.

    This leadership role gives production associates direction in safety, quality, and productivity. Facilitates and executes the production department's action plans. Implements corrective action plans that create long-term solutions to systemic problems. Supports operators to ensure the ongoing operation of the facility. Performs all tasks safely to ensure achievement of quality, service, and cost objectives. Supports and develops standard operating procedures and requirements. The Production Supervisor will work to naturalize and propagate a Continuous Improvement (CI) culture on the production floor by coaching and facilitating the use of the CI toolsets and standard processes to production employees. Responsible for leveraging team-based problem-solving techniques (e.g., Production floor gembas, 5S, root cause, etc.) to investigate, analyze, identify, and mitigate causes of performance gaps on the production line. Responsible for building associate capability and proficiency in operating and maintaining line equipment with the objective of instilling a sense of “machine ownership” in each associate that will be the foundation of the CI initiative. The Supervisor will be accountable for ensuring that production line associates complete the required training matrix for (his/her) line and machine in a specified time determined by plant management. The Supervisor must be energetic, self-motivated, and comfortable in leading teams, maintaining a sense of urgency in “Making Success Routine” on the production floor, and building the case for CI initiatives focused on enhancing the stability and reliability of the production line. Job Duties: Facilitate daily start up, routine production and changeover processes for assigned lines using SAP tools. Scheduling of personnel to include training, callouts, and Temporary employees. Collect, verify, and file the production checklists. Verify production numbers with the warehouse and pack production numbers. Implement the production plan for the shift. Ensure that the current production schedule is being followed. Manage the indirect material inventory levels to ensure that the demands for production are available. Follow up with the Quality Control department on hold situations to facilitate the creation and implementation of new procedures into the daily production routine to prevent future issues. Coordinate the maintenance work order process for Production. Manage recovery of any non-conforming product delivered to warehouse, coordinate reworking back into production run (missing codes, incorrect coding, and any defective incidents). Implement corrective actions and continuous improvements to improve processes per management. Manage GMP/5S guidelines. Participate in projects as assigned. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures. Achieve and/or exceed safety objectives for area of responsibility. Ensure accuracy of all employee documentation. Develop and deliver presentations as required. Support Plant's Safety Initiatives and Policies. Additional duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or related field required. Knowledge of SAP preferred. The Supervisor must be proficient in the use of spreadsheets, and be able to assimilate, analyze, and interpret data to effectively drive production line performance- Excel and Power BI utilized Possess effective written and verbal communications skills Effectively lead production employees, communicate goals and objectives Coordinate communication between production floor associates and management The ability to draft reports, develop one-point lessons, and publish written training material Employees must comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company. Travel to other sites may periodically be required. Physical Activity / Working Conditions Work is performed in various locations inside and outside the Plant. Work involves exposure to temperature extremes, high noise levels, wetness, heights, dust, moving equipment, vibrations, and vapors. Equipment used includes various pumps, valves, piping, hose, tanks, machinery, computers and associated software, control panel, forklifts, hand tools, copy machine, label makers and any equipment identified in the role. Personal protective equipment includes safety glasses, slip resistant/safety shoes and hearing protection. Job tasks may involve: Lifting up to 55 pounds. Frequent carrying, reaching, bending, crawling, standing and repetitive motion, and working at heights. Employees will be expected to attend safety and GMP training, serve on the facility safety committee if requested and participate in hazard analysis and resolution.
