Production operations technician job description

While reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for the production of cylinders following standard operating procedures and customer specifications. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with various teams and be an effective problem solver. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.

Day to day responsibilities include:
Adhere to all Standard Working Practices (SWP's) Follow all Safety rules and risk assessments/JSA's and be an active participant in safety training.Performs all daily/weekly inspections and housekeeping of assigned department Prepares cylinders to customer specifications.Use measuring devices and tools necessary for the role.Accurate and timely completion of any required administrative responsibilities.Assist other team members (as needed) to meet production needs.Follow company protocols, policies and goals while acting on opportunities to optimize the efficiency of the department.Manage your schedule to achieve agreed production timings, liaising with production resources on daily production needs while elevating any concerns should timings prove unachievable.Continued focus on quality (your own, and that of others) to ensure product is produced to the necessary customer/printer/Trident standards.

We expect you to be Sonoco mission driven We want you to have at least 1-3 years' experience working with machine shop equipment You must have a good working knowledge of all types of CNC equipment We want you have prior experience in assembly or fabrication work using blueprints and CAD drawings A technical degree is strongly preferred You have to have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.To succeed in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed. You need to have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.You will need to be able to lift 50 lbs. as needed.Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.You will need to able to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time.You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Summary/Objective

Entry Level Technicians are hired as members of a high-performance work team. Technicians are capable of operating several operational systems (several pieces of equipment) that are part of an entire manufacturing, process or warehousing system.

Essential Functions

The essential functions of this position include but may not be limited to those listed below. Sunny Delight Beverage retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.

1. Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required.

2. Comply with Sunny Delight Beverage's policies and procedures.

3. Capable of performing routine operations with minimum supervision.

4. Responsible for operating production lines, keeping production flowing and meeting performance goals.

5. Responsible for maintaining a high level of quality that consumers expect from our products. Visually checks to assure that we are at quality code consistently.

6. Responsible for operating basic hand and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, drills, grinders, etc.

7. Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on equipment. Make minor equipment adjustments and changeovers or setups.

8. Technicians are expected to get involved, take charge of situations, demonstrate ownership, confront business-related problems and continuously improve the equipment and processes.

9. Performs basic cleaning, inspection and lubrication of the equipment they operate.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

o Strong technical, interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills

o 2 or more years machine operating experience

o Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends.

o Basics computer knowledge

o Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

o Forklift Exp. Preferred

Production Technician I, Zirconia Pressing Operations Location: Somerset, New Jersey

Purpose

To manufacture high quality dental products for commercial sale.

Your Responsibilities

* Execute all policies, procedures and work instructions associated with this position to fulfill Ivoclar Vivadent Manufacturing, Inc.'s Quality System.
* Partake in all aspects of the Manufacturing Process. Obtained by training on all required SOPs, WMs, MPSs, and other applicable department related procedures.
* Train new employees and cross train other employees as needed.
* Keep accurate records of all production work performed.
* Maintain a clean work environment for the purpose of eliminating contamination.
* Train on all required and applicable company procedures.
* Communicate and coordinate activities with previous and following shift.
* Keep accurate records of all production work performed and track KPIs.
* Substitute for operators not present at work station.
* Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Your Qualifications

* Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
* 0-1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Computer literate in Microsoft Office; Word and Outlook experience helpful.
* Ability to read, write and speak English.
* Strong general mechanical aptitude.
* Quality conscious and excellent organization skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic business environment.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Ability to train new team members.
* Problem solving skills.
* Ability to identify waste as defined by Lean principles.
* Ability to accurately gather and maintain information and data.
* Ability to understand and utilize Lean tools.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift a minimum of 44 pounds comfortably. Ability to reach for parts up to 36" away on work surfaces heights between 0" to 60". Ability to ascend and descend ladders, bend and kneel. Position could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. Ability to use a computer monitor and move about effectively to fulfill the essential functions of the job. Manual dexterity and ability to operate machinery.
