The machine operator will operate machines and crane to move pipe in and out of machining centers. After the pipe is in place, the operator will machine tapered threads into the pipe. During this process, the machine operator is responsible for verifying measurements, such as thread depth and correct taper. After the threads are cut the operator tests the flange to make sure it screws onto the pipe properly. Applies glue on pipe and flange and uses the machine to tighten the flange onto the pipe. For Threaders - Remove pipe from machine and move to next processing operation. For Lathes - run the cutting tool across the surface of the face of the flange to flush fit the flange onto the pipe Operator will work with pipe and flanges primarily from 3” to 6” in diameter, and lengths from 4 inches to 18 feet long. Operator will be proficient with quality and able to meet prescribed production output objectives for the work center. What is a Mill Operator? The Mill Operator sets up, operates and tends milling machines to mix, mill and shape rubber material for molding. The Mill Operator uses job travelers and other documentation for specifications and conformance. This position works closely with plant chemists to ensure proper chemicals, and other components are properly used when preparing to mill rubber. What will I be doing? Reading and interpreting job travelers to assess specifications and to determine mixing and material instructions needed to mill rubber components; Observing the milling machine operation and adjusts controls to ensure conformance with specified tolerances such as mill speed, lubrication and density; Continuously tending the machine and the material, often feeding material back into the rollers and sometimes adding components until the material reaches proper consistency; Verifying dimensions of rubber material using various instruments such as rulers, gauges and calipers; Delivering samples to the on-site lab for testing, as necessary Removing rubber material and places it according to instructions on racks in the mill room for production needs. As a Secondary Machine Operator you will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of drilling and sawing machinery. Work is performed in accordance with the instructions provided by the department supervisor or manager (or other designated individual). The employee is expected to carry out the assignments, free of direct supervision, except for more complicated jobs. Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday What you will do as a Secondary Machine Operator Setup and safely operate single spindle, multiple spindle, radial-armed drills, and cut-off saws.
