We are seeking a Process Technician to support operations at a single manufacturing site and across customer locations. This role is critical in ensuring smooth onboarding of new jobs, validating processes handed off by R\&D, and maintaining sustainable production practices. Additionally, the Process Technician will provide technical support to ensure products remain in spec, lead quality and efficiency improvements, and assist with new product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at translating technical requirements into practical, repeatable processes while responding quickly to production challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
Job Onboarding: Lead the introduction of new products or jobs into production, ensuring readiness and alignment with plant capabilities.
Training & Support: Develop and deliver training for floor personnel on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
Process Validation: Confirm that R\&D handoffs are feasible and sustainable for long-term production.
Technical Support: Provide proactive and reactive support to operators, ensuring products remain in spec and resolving issues quickly.
Documentation & Standards: Create and maintain detailed process documentation, SOPs, and quality standards.
Trials & Testing: Plan and execute trials to validate processes, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance; conduct lab evaluations and comparative analysis with competitive products.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency in label manufacturing and related operations.
Customer Interaction: Support customer and MCC-sponsored new product development projects; participate in coater trials and customer visits, occasionally requiring on-site work across shifts.
Quality Oversight: Maintain lab/testing equipment and calibrations; initiate raw material complaints (SNAR), track corrective actions, and manage quality holds.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (or equivalent experience); 2- or 4-year degree or 2-4 years of related experience/training acceptable.
Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in labels or similar industries.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Math skills (including Algebra) and knowledge of printing/converting materials and technologies.
Excellent communication and training skills; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to travel for internal and customer visits and trials.
Other Considerations:
Occasional lifting of rolls/samples up to 40-45 lbs.
Work around coating and slitting equipment; safety shoes may be required.
Professional attire for customer visits; flexible hours for multi-shift coverage.

LOAD AND UNLOAD • Inspects all product at beginning, during and end of process for defects and quality issues that will show through the coating. Inspects for proper masking when applied.
• Works as a team to ensure all coating materials meet customer specifications with regard to quality.
• Loads and unloads castings on the line, selecting and using proper hooks and hangers, per PDS.
• Applies specified coatings to product in accordance with standards for proper coverage, thickness, and surface quality. Watches for light coverage or bald spots and applies touch up paints as needed by brush, pot gun or similar equipment.
• Identifies defects in material and paint such as pullback, light coverage, insufficient coating, etc.
• Maintains work space cleanliness to ensure quality product.
• Positions completed product on skids and/or in containers per customer specifications.
• Keeps a clean and organized work area. Cleans hopper, gun, and booths as necessary.
• Performs multiple changeovers depending on color and gloss requirements based on customer specifications.
POWDER APPLICATOR
• Moves switches and dials to start flow current and to activate conveyor and paint spraying equipment.
• Turns valves and observes gauges to set pressure and to control flow of paint to each spray station.
• Adjusts thermostat to maintain specified temperature in paint tanks.
SPRAY APPLICATOR
• Performs color changes required by customer specifications.
• Applies specific coating to parts.
• Inspects raw castings for defects before powder is applied.
• Ensures color chip matches powder coat scheduled.
• Maintains cleanliness of booth, spray gun, hoppers and surrounding areas.
• Empties waste hoppers and returns powder to storage daily.

MASKER/DETAILER
• Inspects parts for pre-paint and post paint defects.
• Applies masking material to parts as described in work documents.
• Secures masking material in place with appropriate tape or gummed material as determined in work instructions.
• Removes masking material and inspects areas for coverage where none is required.
• Applies rust preventative to unpainted surfaces.
• Packages parts to customer specifications.

This position will initially train as packers and be promoted into an operator role after successfully completing operator training. The Operator is responsible for ensuring efficient and safe machine operation, producing high-quality products, performing preventative maintenance, and operating production line machines. Our ideal candidate would be willing to work 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule (no rotating). This position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform machine checklist setup to ensure the quality and efficiency of the material being processed and ensure the continual operation of the machine
Perform essential automated and manual equipment set-up functions
Comprehensive understanding and ability to perform related duties, including packaging, labeling, quality testing, opening rolls, splicing, and roll tending
The first line of quality control; detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
Follow the Standard Operating Procedure to report any problems with the beginning or end product. Make any necessary adjustments to correct the situation.
Maintain the work area and equipment clean and orderly and followed the prescribed safety regulations
Performs basic preventive maintenance on the automated equipment at specified intervals and schedules, escalating to shift mechanics as needed
Perform a variety of duties in the set-up and operation of equipment
Initiate rework/repair activities as needed
Records data required for statistical process control or inventory management
Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to meet production deadlines
Complete shift checklists and operational paperwork throughout the shift

Age 18 years or older
Previous manufacturing and machine operating experience
Able to perform manual and repetitive tasks
Must be able to work independently
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and walk up/downstairs on a regular basis
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Has basic computer skills

Overview: As a Machine Operator in our Rough Mill department, you will be cutting and processing lumber into pallet components. You will be responsible for following set up procedures for machines/saws for optimal efficiency and safety. Shift Hours: Monday-Friday from 7am-4:30pm Duties & Responsibilities:
Train on all saws and cutting equipment
Meet the production standard on each machine trained on
Set up saws and machine properly while following LOTO procedures
Build and cut pallet components.
Sort and inspect pallet components.
Inspect and run machines
Operate all pallet manufacturing facility tools (saws, nail guns, pallet jacks, hand tools) and equipment in a safe manner
Sort and stack pallets according to customers' requirements
Keep daily log of work done to turn into shift supervisor at end of each shift
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Prior experience as a machine operator preferred.
Prior experience working with wood preferred
Able to work well with others
Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations
Ability to lift, push, and pull objects that 50 pounds or less
Must be able to sit, walk, bend and twist for long periods of time throughout the day
Must be able to understand and adhere to all the safety requirements of the pallet manufacturing facility
