Sandblasting:
Work is derived from orders, specifications and general instructions to blast clean a wide variety of weldments, castings and parts to prepare them for further processing and finish blast prescribed surfaces after machining, in accordance with surface finish specification.
Protect surfaces that do not require blasting.
Startup blast equipment, maintain an adequate supply of blast material, clean filters and remove dirt from area.
Material Handling
Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or using lifting equipment such as pallet jacks and power hoist. Required to load material onto various machines as needed.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
Completes computer transactions to relieve inventory and maintain accurate material movements.
Painting
Paint all scheduled products and parts per manufacturing procedures.
Must paint to internal procedures from shop prints with high quality and minimum rejects.
Protect surfaces that do not require painting.
Polishing
Polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools as needed.
Operate polishing tumbler to smooth and polish rough surfaces for parts.
Crating
Assembles wooden crates/pallets using saws, electric or pneumatic staple/nail gun, hammers, tape measures and other wood working tools.
Determine suitable packaging and crating.
Build custom skids, crates, and boxes, while verifying and recording packing details.
Basic Manual Machines
Machine required parts through the operation of the saw, broach, or other manual machinery.
Other duties may be assigned.
