A Snapshot of Your Day You can expect working with teammates, in a safe, comfortable, climate-controlled environment, to manufacture parts for large generators. The primary purpose of this position is to build or make parts by c reating, forming, building various materials according to blueprints and instructions.
How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
Inspecting parts for quality achievement
Machine operation, including setup, adjustments
Use hand tools for building, forming, bending, punching, grinding, cutting, brazing, buffing, and welding
Use testing, electrical and measurement equipment
Lifting and loading parts and components to transport to various areas or machines
Use various solutions to apply to parts according to instructions
Use of appliances, such as ovens to bake and cure parts
Read blueprints, drawings, engineering specifications, and work package information to determine operations required
Assembly and installation of parts according to instruction
Ability to trouble shoot welding problems (undercut, porosity, lack of fusion, etc.)
Ability to determine welder settings of optimum results
Participate with all to keep the plant safe, organized, and clean, including cleaning your area daily
Complete employment requirements, such as passing a drug screen and background check

The Operator - Machine 2 is responsible for producing quality product while running continuous motion packaging, filling, and palletizing equipment efficiently and safely by performing the following duties.

About The Job
Your job as a Packaging Technician for Opella Consumer Healthcare involves ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of diverse packaging machinery, from slat fillers to thermoformers and cappers. You'll be responsible for the equipment's set-up, cleaning, and maintenance, playing a vital part in our production process.
This is a 1st shift position. Monday - Friday: 6:00am - 2:00pm.
Main Responsibilities:
Use tools to efficiently disassemble and reassemble machinery as needed.
Prepare packaging lines for various products, ensuring components and equipment are set up correctly.
Provide packaging supplies and bulk products as required to maintain smooth operations.
Monitor product quality and reject any materials or packages not meeting FDA-cGMP standards.
Document and maintain proper fill levels according to product specifications.
Operate packaging lines following Set-Up Sheets, SPIs (Standard Packaging Instructions), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and other procedures.
Ensure a safe work environment, report any hazards, and continuously develop your skills to comply with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements.
About You
Education: You must have a High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Experience in manufacturing, production, including operating high-speed packaging or assembly equipment, start-ups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
Technical Competencies: You should be proficient in operating various packaging machinery and tools, including electric and manual lift trucks, tape machines, and equipment like fillers, cappers, labelers, and bundlers.
Physical Ability: You must be capable of lifting 25-60 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and demonstrating exceptional coordination, manual dexterity, and mechanical aptitude.
Special Requirements: You are required to comply with dress code regulations, be willing to undergo necessary training, and work in conditions with exposure to product, dust, grease, and packing machinery hazards.
Pre-employment Testing: You need to complete the required pre-employment testing.
Desired Qualifications: Additional qualifications such as Lean Six Sigma Certification, previous pharmaceutical experience, and familiarity with Production Automation Systems like SAP are desirable.

As a Super-Sod Farm Labor/Machine Operator, you'll be responsible for operating a variety of mechanical farming equipment-from mowers and forklifts to sprayers and manual harvesting tools-to support all phases of sod production and harvesting. Your day-to-day will include equipment inspections and maintenance, assisting with construction and facility upkeep, and performing hands-on harvesting tasks. This is a dynamic role ideal for someone who thrives in an active, outdoor environment and values precision, safety, and teamwork in every task. Under manager supervision, the Super-Sod Farm Labor/Machine Operator performs work of moderate difficulty in the operation of various mechanical farm equipment; performs related farm and harvesting work as assigned.
Essential Functions
Operates various mechanical farming equipment used in agricultural production, such as mowers, forklifts, and sprayers as well as other manual harvesting equipment.
Performs inspection and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, buildings, and facilities.
Participates in construction/maintenance projects.
May train new staff or act as lead worker.
May keep records and prepare reports.
Performs other related tasks related to agriculture harvesting as assigned by Farm Supervisor.

Requires little to no travel time.
Required Education and Experience
Experience operating farm equipment, such as tractors, forklifts, or mowers.
Must be able to work in a safety aware environment.
Bilingual skills are desired but not required
Must be 18 years of age or older.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.
Key Deliverables
Set up and operate a production machine in accordance with Astec's guidelines.
Control and adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately.
Perform pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation.
Accurately perform task based on blueprints provided.
Maintain a detailed activity log of daily duties.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Knowledgeable in basic machine safety to include proper lifting techniques.
Basic blueprint reading and math skills (basic geometry to figure angles) and decimals and metric conversions.
Knowledgeable and able to use tape measure, combination square, levels and radius boards, etc.
Able to safely use hand tools to include hammer, adjustable wrench, air grinder, pencil grinder, and air wrenches.
Closely monitor machine while in operation, never leaving immediate work area while machine is in operation and be ready to respond to breakdowns quickly in order to shut down machine.
Be able to read cut lists (basic reading skills and knowledge of materials - types of steel).
Able to safely operate cranes and forklifts.
Be able to do some layout work.
Review operator manual(s) for saw, drill, and mill for safe and appropriate operation (to include preventive maintenance).
Communicate with other machine operators and team members to guarantee safety on the floor.
Keep work area neat and clean.
Must follow all Astec, Inc. safety rules and requirements.
Must follow all company policy requirements.
To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Relevant trade school or college course work desired.
Blueprint reading skills desired.
0-2 Heavy equipment manufacturing experience desired.
Computer experience desired, particularly the ability to use a mouse, and locate and open/close files.
Ability to follow verbal instruction and learn how to operate machine, training will be provided.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
Must have good troubleshooting skills, be able to maintain quality, and diagnose cutting problems.
