Position Summary
As a Technical Operator at Hudsonville Ice Cream, you will play a key hands-on role in producing, packaging, and preparing our ice cream products across multiple production platforms. You will operate, monitor, and troubleshoot a variety of automated and mechanical equipment, ensuring production runs efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Linde Fork Truck - relocate pallets of rope and chemical totes.
Liner Driver Coverage
Support Liner Plant routine shutdown / start-ups with lockout tag outs and housekeeping.
Assist Liner Operator (ex. troubleshoot with Liner Operator).
Learn various types of bales in the Liner Plant: Flyleaf (FLY), Signature (SIG), Sorted White Ledger (SWL), Pie-Plate.
Squeeze Truck - load Liner Conveyor and unloading bales from trucks.
Linde Truck - empty hoppers.
Production Loader Coverage
Identify different paper grades and width of rolls.
Clamp Truck - relocate / stack rolls from Roll Kicker to the Mill-Side Finished Goods Warehouse (FGW).

Cut paper samples (paper retention samples and lab tests).
Learn a basic understanding of MDIS.
Other Job Procedures & Training
Familiar with duties required during normal wash-ups.
Fire watch rounds, general clean-up, screen inspections, clothing changes, etc.
Responsible for housekeeping and supporting 5S initiatives in assigned areas to meet housekeeping expectations.
Familiar with all pertinent lockout procedures and support all production in lockouts.
Review Visual Work Instructions (VWI) in their respective area and complete SOC.

The first week, the Utility will shadow the 5H or lab tester position until spending a week with Supply Chain for basic mobile equipment training.

The Utility will be released to their assigned Production Crew once they pass the mobile equipment training - further training must be completed with Production to be qualified in any of the Operator 2 positions.

Objective: The Machine Operator operates various machinery to tap, ream, form, sand, spot weld and/or rivet components in an exemplary manner according to the company quality policies.

Essential Functions:
Standard Work:
Read, understand, and complete all production paperwork, including inspection check sheets, quality alerts, and standard work instructions in the job books.
Follow set-up instructions when operating machines. Support activities in the change-over process.
Read, follow, and complete tags.
Use work scheduling system to proficiently start jobs, print labels, load components and raw materials, and close out jobs.
Operate machines and/or presses to process parts via standard instructions, consistently maintaining appropriate production levels.
Troubleshoot machines to ensure both part quality and maximum production levels.
Manually repair parts as needed according to process instructions to meet customer specifications.

Properly place scrap in the right container.

Quality:

Stop production and notify Team Leader when a non-standard condition is found.
Operate the CMM and interpret CMM reports.

Ensure quality: Inspect and monitor production runs, ensuring products meet the highest quality standards.

Job Responsibilities
Operate production machinery and equipment to manufacture components according to specifications and production schedules.
Set up machines, load materials, and monitor operations to ensure proper performance and quality output.
Inspect parts using gauges, calipers, and other measuring tools to verify accuracy and consistency.
Adjust machine settings as needed and report mechanical issues or defects to maintenance or supervision.
Follow work orders, blueprints, and standard operating procedures to ensure correct product manufacturing.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following company safety standards and PPE requirements.
