Essential Job Functions: * Inspect raw or cast jewelry pieces for defects, excess material, or inconsistencies. * Perform pre-polishing tasks such as filing, sanding, grinding, and buffing using hand tools or machinery. * Sand tops of ring on sandpaper with back and forth motions. * Polish tabs with small felt wheel and with diamond compound. * Polish top of ring with white compound and medium felt wheel mounted on bench motor using side wheel. * Wash ring in degreaser. * Maintain consistency in surface preparation to ensure optimal results in the final polish. * Handle precious metals and stones with care, following safety and handling protocols. * Collaborate with quality control to identify and correct imperfections. * Keep accurate records of work completed and report any production issues. * Clean and maintain workstations, tools, and equipment. * Follow production schedules and meet daily output targets. Specialized Knowledge/Skills: * Employee should be able to read a limited number of two or three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. * Ability to speak and write simple sentences. * Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. * Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Therefore professionally handling different situations and interactions with members of the public in live operations is a key responsibility of the role. * Data & Feedback: As we are building and scaling operations in Austin, a requirement of this role is to collect data and feedback from the field and communicate this to various internal teams with the view to improve operational efficiency, safety and value for our partners. * Varia: Assisting with the onsite team to build and scale the Austin operations by helping out with hub-based tasks and offering support when needed to technical and remote operations teams when required. What you must have * Education: High school diploma or equivalent. * Language: Knowledge of basic English. * Normal US Driving License (Class D) Get some bonus points * Language: Knowledge of basic Spanish. * Flexibility for shifts or extended hours during critical operations. * Prior experience with operation of machines or equivalent.
