Purpose Statement

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
* Housekeeping of machine area.
* Verify bulk quantity and accuracy prior to start.
* Make bags in accordance with customer requirements at fastest speed and best quality.
* Bag label/Case label QC .
* Daily feedback to Production Supervisor on Packers and any other issues.
* Operators responsible for upkeep and maintenance of their own machines. MACHINES TURNED OFF WHEN NOT IN USE.
* Bulk pallets are moved behind the production line back to inventory once complete.
* Ensure only current production run's case labels are present. All other labels are removed from the area.
ACTIVITES:
Adhere to your assigned production line to avoid cross contamination of product.
Completes logs Run Start Log and Machine Pre-op Checklist daily.
Use OS to know the day's plan.
Verify bulk product staged is enough before starting the machine.
Make sure the machine area is clean all the time and tools are stored properly.
Make sure bag labels are corrected and straight.
Send picture of bag label to "Model Bag" text group.
Make sure case labels are applies immediately and have correct information.
Before end of shift make all cases are sealed and labeled.
Make sure the machine and area is clean at the end of shift.
If run is complete place white cone on bulk pallet so inventory associate can return to inventory.
If run is not complete leave bulk pallet in place.
Submit completed Run Start Log and Machine Pre-Op checklist to the QA Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Will be required to perform tasks such as lifting up to 55 pounds, walking, standing, climbing, reaching, stooping, pulling, pushing, grasping, and balancing as part of production activities out on the floor.
Will be required to see and hear well enough to understand Associates questions and respond to their concerns.
Will be required to work in freezers, near noisy machinery, near confined spaces as part of daily production activities.
Food Safety Responsibilities:
Follow all GMP's, food safety, and quality policies.
Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen, or magnet deficiencies, glass breakage, and pest harborage.
Monitor product quality and food safety throughout all stages of production, recording such results as required, and reporting deficiencies to Supervision.
Record accurate and legible results on documentation
Provide adequate housekeeping at all times.

Overview
Responsible for the safe operation of various types of bag machines in order to produce high quality bags. These may include, but are not limited to, shopping, merchandise, and grocery and sack machines.
Responsibilities
* Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures i.e. PPE, clothing, EHS, moving equipment, cut resistant gloves, etc.
* Check bags for quality defects off the machine and do all quality checks and paperwork as per Quality Policy
* Safely and efficiently:
* Strip rolls down, removing liner and /or bands and removing minimal layers of damaged paper
* Change roll, make splice by hand, maneuver roll into position, adhere roll to web on machine, and adjust paper rolls
* Monitor bag machinery, starting, stopping, jogging, and adjusting as needed in a timely manner
* Threading paper through machine smoothly and thread machine as needed
* Clean and repair machine as needed using proper tools and equipment
* Maintain ink levels, clean ink pans and wash rollers
* Package bags as specified
* Change orders
* Submit accurate production reports daily and timely
* Meet/achieve safety, quality, production waste and housekeeping goals set forth by management

Observe company safety rules and regulations.
Set-up and operate electro-chemical machines to cut metal work pieces to specifications
Following standard charts and manuals and applying knowledge of electro-chemical machining processes and methods.
Examine operation sheets of product and plan operation of machine for any ECM operation.
Dress electrodes according to standard practices and part requirements and identify any conditions that will render an electrode unusable.
Position and secure work pieces on electro-chemical machine table with clamps, vices or holding fixtures. Perform minor adjustments to set-up of electrodes to ensure concentricity, alignment and depth of electrode to work piece using measuring instruments such as dial indicators or computer machine controllers.
Turn controls to adjust machine settings such as voltage, current and electrode feed rate according to information on charts, operation sheets, data cards and/or knowledge of electro chemical machine procedures. Turn valves to adjust flow of acid through electrodes and on work piece.
Start machine and observe beginning of operation. Make adjustments as necessary within specifications to ensure operation runs smoothly. Check on machine and electrodes frequently throughout the operation.
Inspect work pieces visually and with specified measuring instruments for conformance to specifications and record measured dimensions.
Use electronic documenting system to update status of parts as they are moved throughout the plant and record all necessary quality information including accept/reject criteria and detailed information regarding any quality defects.
Move completed work pieces to outgoing area, and from incoming area for next operation.
Check set-up and electrodes at the start of each shift. Check depth of electrodes to work piece before every operation.
As required, train and assist other operators with issues or difficulties.
Maintain tools and measuring instruments supplied by company.
Maintain company production and quality standards.
Report unusual problems or conditions to manager.
Make a strong effort to achieve or exceed expected production output.
Keep track of how much time is spent on each machine or activity throughout the shift and record daily through electronic system.

Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
A background in machine operation, assembly, or equipment maintenance.
Must be comfortable working with tools and following manufacturing work instructions.
