Production operator job in Danielson, CT
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Operator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating machinery according to production specifications, ensuring product quality, supporting process improvement initiatives, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities: Machine Operation & Production:
Set up machinery following specified procedures and best practices.
Convert raw materials according to work order specifications.
Execute production trials and record results as needed.
Complete quality documentation accurately and at required stages of production.
Operate any production line as required to meet the production schedule.
Ensure timely and efficient changeovers and machine start-ups.
Safety & Environmental Compliance:
Adhere to all safety rules and standards.
Report unsafe conditions and environmental concerns immediately.
Follow all applicable manufacturing standards and standard work procedures.
Identify and report near misses and safety incidents.
Production Support:
Support cross-functional initiatives from departments such as Quality, Engineering, and Customer Care.
Communicate when production output targets are not met.
Assist with material handling and maintain point-of-use storage systems.
Ensure Kanban systems are managed and replenished appropriately.
Process Improvement & Maintenance:
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and inefficiencies.
Identify opportunities for Kaizen and other lean manufacturing practices.
Maximize machine uptime and production throughput.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs via work orders.
Visual Factory Standards:
Maintain a clean, organized, and "customer-ready" work environment at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret production documents and specifications.
Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and safety.
Willingness to learn, train others, and support a team environment.
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced manufacturing environment
Standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs may be required
Use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory
