Job Description:
The Machine Operator responsibilities include operating, setting up, and performing basic maintenance on production equipment under the supervision of the Production Team Leader. The role requires maintaining a clean and safe work area, following food safety and quality standards, performing inspections and quality checks, completing production documentation, removing defective products, and reporting safety, mechanical, or quality issues. The Machine Operator supports line operations, assists team members, and works effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Operate, set up, adjust, and perform basic maintenance on production equipment
-Work under the direction of the Production Team Leader
-Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment
-Follow all food safety, quality, and safety regulations (GMPs, PPE, HACCP)
-Perform line pre-operational inspections and assemble equipment
-Conduct and document quality checks and sampling as required
-Complete all required production and equipment documentation
-Remove defective products from the line
-Report safety issues, near misses, mechanical problems, and foreign objects
-Assist packaging line workers to ensure efficient operations and order fulfillment
-Support training by teaching others assigned tasks

Job Requirements:
-High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required
-3-6 months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
-Previous experience operating Hayssen equipment, including adjusting and changing graphic films and tubes, preferred
-Mechanical troubleshooting experience preferred
-Ability to speak, read, and write in English; bilingual skills are a plus
-Ability to read and interpret instructions and accurately complete forms
-Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers and decimals
-Intermediate reasoning skills with the ability to follow written and oral instructions
-Ability to stand for the entire shift and perform physical activities such as walking, kneeling, bending, climbing, balancing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
-Ability to work in a refrigerated, cold/wet environment (approximately 38°F)

Position Description
The Production Supervisor will drive production/manufacturing results through ownership and accountability; ensure budgeted performance is reached on all lines; meet line performance objectives including changeover objectives; maintain washouts to required timelines; limit downtime. This position will work with maintenance to ensure appropriate operations/maintenance "handshakes", PM program adherence, training/knowledge sharing; communicate and redirect maintenance efforts to meet quality and productivity goals. Develop and implement systems to improve production efficiencies that are sustainable and repeatable.
Essential Functions
Must constantly focus on improving line performance, limiting downtime, improving changeover time on all lines. Ensure mechanical knowledge is communicated to all techs and operators as needed.
Develop and deliver effective briefs, reports, meetings. Attend all inter-department meetings each day to coordinate plans, complete any required safety items, cross train employees, ensure GMP and SQF compliance, verify QC checks on running product, verify all line checks are being performed, and complete visual observation of running product.
Understand and know the short-term as well as long-range goals and targets for production and how they tie to the daily/weekly/monthly production plan.
Continual monitoring and updating of SOP's as needed.
Plan and execute effective line startups, ensure cleaning on all equipment is maintained, plan new product runs effectively.
Implement the Production Department training matrix to maintain an accurate record of employees in need of training. Document expert knowledge and develop training program around that information. Track effectiveness of training thru weekly evaluation form. Certify each employee has completed training and are fully qualified and periodically validate.
Lead meetings with employees at the end/beginning of a shift (debrief) communicating needed information for the business flow.
Lead on projects to include but not limited to capital improvements on production lines and support systems, new product runs, packaging or container changes to existing products, consumer complaint issue investigations, line issue investigations including six sigma tool uses.
Will also attend safety meetings and lead process improvement teams to generate ideas to improve efficiencies on the lines or any topic so designated.
Develop plant operations knowledge of the main support systems needed to run an effective plant. Knowledge of the major pieces of support equipment that are essential to running the plant and impact of problems with these systems.
Must communicate clearly with team what is expected and monitor performance and address inefficiencies thru coaching and positive motivation and/or formal disciplinary action, if required.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
Undergraduate Degree in an Engineering related field (or equivalent experience) plus four (4) years experience in a production and/or engineering environment required.
Strong leadership capabilities in a fast-paced production environment required.
Previous experience in the food/beverage manufacturing industry preferred.
Position-Specific Skills:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, & Outlook) with the ability to learn new applications as required.
An understanding of operational electrical and mechanical systems is a plus. Troubleshooting and Lean Manufacturing experience required.
An understanding of SQF, responsibility for Food Safety /Food Quality and the responsibility to take action when notified or becomes aware of any Food Safety or Food Quality issue.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in an organized, detailed manner, given limited time frames.

Preparing the individual rolls for installation in the grinding equipment, utilizing knives to trim back rubber from the rollers prior to installing the rollers into the equipment, cleaning steel surfaces of rollers using hand or mechanical equipment, cleaning steel surfaces of rollers using hand or mechanical equipment, such as die-grinders or sheet abrasive/polishing materials.
Setting the grinding equipment, installing special grinding wheels or attachments, adjusting and setting tooling on tool posts, installing live-centers, chucks centers, extensions, dogs, etc.
Aligning the rollers in the equipment to meet all dimensional requirements of job order. This includes adjustment for taper, TIR, roller surface finish, and finish dimensions.
Measure all required dimensions and understand the relationship of the dimensions to the specific requirements of the job.
Utilize all inspection and measurement equipment per procedure and instruction, including durometer gauges, pi-tapes, P&J gauges, micrometers, vernier diameter tapes, dial indicators, profilometers, temperature-indicating devices, and others as needed.
Complete the grinding operation and inspect the finished product to ensure that all requirements are met.
Complete all necessary paperwork, inspection reports, job router information, and operator sign-off on job.
Clean all metal and rubber surfaces prior to protective wrapping.
Unload the grinding equipment safely and without damage or harm to personnel, equipment or finished product.
Deliver the finished product to a designated storage area or shipping container.

Encompasses all equipment including but not limited to: CNC Lathe, CNC Mill, CNC Band Saw, CNC Bridge Mill, Water Jet, HVAC Preventive Maintenance, Passivation System (Tanks), welding equipment, press break, manual machines, blast booth, paint booth, and an air compressor with corresponding distribution system.
Assignments may include modification of commercial items, and fabrication of developmental equipment and devices, a limited number of equipment prototypes and one-of-a-kind items. Items machined are made from metals and metal alloys including Stainless Steel (SS), Carbon Steel (CS), Aluminum (AL), and other metals that are limited in use primarily to the military.
Incumbent works and plans sequences of operation from verbal instructions, rough sketches, or blueprints and frequently works from only a description or specification of end item requirement without an outline of the steps and methods required to meet these requirements. Based on experience in working with metals, determines what methods and fabrication processes to use to obtain required factors such as strength, desired life span of item, surface finish, location of component equipment, corrosion and other properties.
Incumbent plans and lays out work; determines procedures, machines, tools, equipment and attachments to be used; determines proper type and size of raw stock needed; and determines machine speeds and feeds necessary to attain required finishes and tolerances, taking into consideration the type of tools to be used and the material to be machined.
Education and Experience - Required/Preferred:
Experience in both CNC and manual machining processes and setup
Experience in operation and setup of various machining equipment, to include but not limited to, CNC Lathe, CNC Mill, CNC Bandsaw, CNC Bridge Mill
Experience and knowledge in preventative maintenance and calibration techniques
Experience in working with production machinery to include, but not limited to, tear down, install, rework, and fabrication.
Ability to carry and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds
Climbing and work in some high places may be required
Experience in mechanical and equipment installation and planning
Ability or receive and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to travel to wind farms across the country, with all accommodation and travel expenses fully covered by the Company. You will be performing inspections, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on wind turbines - ensuring peak performance and safety standards are met.
GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) and GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART) Full certifications will be required to undertake the role.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Maintenance and operation of robotic systems used for cleaning, inspection, and repair of wind turbines.
Performing routine inspections on turbines to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Preventative maintenance on wind turbines and associated systems to reduce downtime and maximize energy production.
Fault diagnosis and resolution of technical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and technology.
Reporting and documentation of work completed, including identifying issues, repairs, and maintenance performed.
Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.
