Core Responsibilities:
Determine plant production requirements based on Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), open customer orders, and annual production goals.Build weekly production and maintenance schedules to ensure delivery against S&OP production volumes while completing necessary preventive and corrective maintenance. Update and maintain the production planning module in SAP.Monitor product inventories at Mapleton and off-site warehouses and alter production schedules to deliver expected service levels.Facilitate weekly planning and scheduling meetings with the site team.Provide coordination between supply chain, customer service, order coordination, and production.Drive continuous improvement of maintenance plans through evaluation of feedback from completed work.Lead and support RCA's to resolve deviations in planning/scheduling KPIs.

Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor's degree or significant relevant work experience Exposure to planning processes used for maintenance and production activities in a complex manufacturing operation Experience collecting data from various sources, organizing and maintaining accurate records and files, and generating reports Knowledge of SAP as it pertains to maintenance and production operations LSS Green Belt or Orange Belt certification a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills

Role

The Vehicle Operations Planning team is looking for exceptional engineers and economists. The Production Planner monitors the flow of our products through the multiple production shops in the factory, manages the build mix and sequence and ensures daily operational performance by identifying issues and execute tactical plans to protect our production output. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment where superior work is encouraged, noticed and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring the flow of the product through the multiple production shops in the factory to ensure that production output is being optimized.

• Forecast and prevent production issues. Resolve issues impacting shop productivity in collaboration with all required groups, i.e., shop leadership, production control operations (material flow), master scheduler, and New Product Introduction engineers, to develop an action plan and lead implementation to facilitate quick recovery and to minimize impact on overall performance

• Manage build mix of drive units and battery packs for next X hours to align with the mix of car configuration flowing into General Assembly

• Plan and manage the sequence (configuration) of cars flowing into General Assembly based on near term material constraints (or other factors).

• Adjusting the plan for production shops based on downstream conditions.

• Pulling the appropriate resources together to develop a plan (e.g. change the near-term mix, deviate to a different part, procure from service) and execute tactical plans to protect production output.

• Identify and articulate the risks that exist to factory due to the current status of the system and recommended actions.

• Identify structural issues / opportunities for improvement to the systems, processes or structure based on the operational performance monitored and communicated the back to the Shop Manager and Production Planner to take action.

• Participate in the daily operational review for Production Control to understand and maintain the health of material flow through the factory.

• Assist with inventory control activities.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

• 3+ years of prior manufacturing experience in a similar position

• Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines with strong follow through

• Extensive budget management experience, forecasting and financial planning

• Skilled in managing projects and cross-functional teams with a broad range of engineering and technical disciplines

• Broad experience with manufacturing and planning systems and methodologies

• Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills

• Availability for off-hours calls

Role and Responsibilities

Summary
The Planner schedules work in accordance with the program schedule. Deciphers engineering drawings, engineering release notices and engineering orders to determine proper action such as requesting parts through material planning as needed and building parts in the shops. Assures schedule adherence and program priorities by having both purchased parts and build parts arrive in time to meet the program schedule. Provides project support to department managers, group leaders, and staff of Hardware Integration and Deployment. Maintains communication with program management, project technicians, production coordinators/planners, material planning, and support departments (such as Mechanical and Electrical Deployment) to monitor the status of product delivery. Might assist other planners in resolving problems with late deliveries and recovery plans for projects.

Enters data into various Hardware Deployment databases Evaluates due dates to ensure they align with schedule need dates Prepares the necessary documentation for items being shipped out of plant Orders necessary tools and parts needed by the hardware deployment group.Extracts various reports from Cognos, JIRA, Costpoint, and/or other reporting systems to evaluate priorities Keeps data integrity in Costpoint as it relates to MRPMaintains operational reports that successfully reflect and aid key project and operational goals.Keeps the work order database updated and accurate Coordinates with material planning and/or purchasing to acquire needed parts for projects Understanding of the bill of materials (BOM) along with a solid knowledge of part numbers and CAE USA Inc. part number philosophy.Interfaces continuously with other planners to determine changes to existing orders/plans on projects Familiarization with engineering change notices (ECN), work order system, log system, and other CAE specific software tools.Analyzes ECN's on a daily basis Maintain inventory integrity of the storerooms using the database Ability to perform work assignments with minimal supervision Sound knowledge and understanding of production control and manufacturing processes Provides guidance to less experienced co-workers

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Two years' certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience in similar environment or related field required Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteMust possess intermediate level Excel skills Must be detail oriented Must be computer literate Must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to work with internal and external customers.

Language Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Security Responsibilities
