Production roustabout job description

1. Work safely and in compliance with all Federal, State and Local rules and regulations, as well as all Beta Offshore company policies and procedures.

2. Report to and assist the Crane Operator with all duties relating to the crane and movement of equipment, supplies and people on and off the platform.

3. Learn and assist with crane maintenance, rigging and the loading and unloading of equipment and supplies.

4. Assist where needed. This includes maintenance and clean up duties.

5. The Roustabout also assists other trade crafts and operations personnel with tasks as needed and learns other positions through cross-training.

6. Complete a thorough shift change over report for next crew.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

1. Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:

High School Diploma or GED.

2. Minimum Experience required:

None.

3. Skills Required:

Ability to read, write and speak in English and perform basic math quickly and accurately. Computer literate with experience using MS Office and Outlook; email and internet. Ability to perform all duties outlined here, pass all physical requirements and work safely at all times.

Career Path:

Open to other operations and craft positions or supervisory capacity depending on individual skills and desire.

Must be willing and able to work a 14 on 14 off schedule, consisting of 12 hour work shifts, living on the platform during your entire hitch in shared living quarters.

Desire to and understanding of how to work safe, follow all rules and regulations, and wear/use appropriate safety equipment at all times.

Able to lift heavy equipment and tools. 6. Able to follow directions and work as a part of a team or individually.

Able to pass swing rope certification to safely arrive to and from the platform and crew boat.

Working outdoors in all weather. Enjoy physical work and not afraid of getting dirty.

About the job

Most of our new production operators begin their employment in the Smelter "Potroom", although we may have other production positions available. All of our production positions require the use of equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and shipping our products. While the exact duties may vary based on the area hired into, a production operator may be expected to handle heavy machinery such as forklifts, cranes, etc., as well as performing specialized tasks. Most importantly, a production operator must adhere to safety guidelines.

Qualifications
High School diploma or GED is required. AN UPDATED RESUME AND HIGH SCHOOL/GED DIPLOMA MUST BE UPLOADED TO THIS APPLICATION. If you have had a gap in employment, please note this on your resume. Must be able to perform physically demanding work activities under high temperature conditions. Candidates must successfully pass a skills aptitude, physical, drug test and background check.

WORK HOURS/ENVIRONMENT:
You must be willing and able to work rotating shifts and continuous schedules. Mandatory overtime may also be required.Typical work environment involves primarily indoor work with exposure to hot and cold weather and extreme non-weather related heat is frequent. Mechanical aptitude Ability to read and interpret work orders to understand customer requirements Supply feed section of equipment through Production Support with carton blanks enabling winder to maintain a continuous run Perform quality checks as required Ensure accurate quantities are packed Report any quality issues or equipment defects to the line OperatorApply labels to cases and palletize finished product Obtain corrugated supplies/packaging materials form the staging areas Report all safety and quality problems to the Operator, Department Lead, Manager or Quality TeamCommunicate required information to fellow colleagues and ManagersMust be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Physical Requirements:
Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs repetitively, 50 lbs occasionally, 100 lbs with assistance Able to work in a labor-intensive position - lifting, standing, bending, twisting and stooping for up to 12 hours per day Pushing/pulling using manual pallet jack to move pallets Visually inspecting tooling, equipment, and finished product

Job Requirements:
Prior General Laborer or Machine Operator experience in a Manufacturing Environment preferred Ability to read basic measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers and tape measures Strong leadership and the ability to take initiative Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to provide hands-on training Communicate with management team on efficiency and quality matters within department Maintain good housekeeping on line by sweeping work area, clearing waste/debris and cleaning dust
